Nobody covers Mecum like CorvSport, and once again our exclusive Mecum data tracker is pulling back the curtain on one of the hobby’s most fascinating stories. For three years and counting, we’ve tracked every Corvette crossing the Mecum block, allowing us to spot trends, identify opportunities, and separate market noise from market reality. Whether you’re actively hunting your next Corvette, considering selling one, or simply obsessed with following the pulse of America’s Sports Car, this is the kind of data-driven insight you won’t find anywhere else.

The High-Dollar Headlines Are Missing

Mecum has delivered some jaw-dropping sales for the iconic Corvette since 2024. We watched a 1967 L88 Convertible command an incredible $2,352,000 at Monterey 2024, while a 1967 L88 Coupe followed it up with a $2,250,000 result at Kissimmee 2025. Yet Tulsa 2026 told a very different story. Despite healthy buyer activity, not a single Corvette managed to crack the six-figure hammer-price barrier. That doesn’t mean the market was asleep—it simply means the inventory mix lacked the blue-chip headline cars that typically dominate auction recaps. As always, we’ll bring you Tulsa’s Top 5 Sales and Top 3 Bargains, but we’re also digging deeper into what the broader Mecum Corvette market is trying to tell us.

Tulsa’s Small Inventory Packs A Punch

At first glance, Tulsa’s Corvette footprint was tiny. Just 37 Corvettes were offered during the 2026 event. Yet buyers showed up ready to do business, purchasing 31 of them and producing a stellar 84% sell-through rate. That’s the kind of efficiency most auction venues would gladly take every weekend. The challenge isn’t demand—it’s supply. Compared to Tulsa’s 2024 event, Corvette inventory has fallen by 34%. Even with fewer cars available, buyers continue to absorb inventory at an impressive pace. Tulsa may be small, but it perfectly reflects the larger trend unfolding across Mecum’s entire Corvette ecosystem.

Troubling & Positive Trends

As Mecum heads into the final seven events of its 2026 season, one statistic jumps off the page: Corvette inventory has declined at every single venue since 2024. Not one location has managed to grow its Corvette offerings over that period. What’s even more intriguing is that eight of twelve venues have actually improved their sell-through rates despite having fewer cars to sell. In other words, demand isn’t disappearing. If anything, buyers are becoming more efficient at absorbing available inventory. The disconnect between shrinking supply and steady demand is becoming one of the defining stories of the current Corvette market.

The Big Tent Numbers Tell The Story

The trend becomes impossible to ignore when examining Mecum’s two flagship events. Kissimmee, the undisputed king of the Mecum calendar, offered 527 Corvettes in 2024 and sold 379. Inventory slipped to 477 cars in 2025 before falling again to 401 in 2026. That’s a 24% decline in the number of available Corvettes over just three years. Sold units followed a similar path, dropping from 379 to 293, a decline of 23%.

Indianapolis paints an even more dramatic picture. Indy offered 332 Corvettes in 2024, then 267 in 2025, before falling to just 219 in 2026. That’s a staggering 34% decline in inventory. Sales suffered even more, falling from 232 sold Corvettes in 2024 to just 146 in 2026—a 37% decrease. When the two largest Corvette auctions in the Mecum universe are seeing inventory contract this sharply, it’s difficult to dismiss the trend as an isolated anomaly.

Is Competition Finally Catching Up To Mecum?

One possible explanation is simple: Corvette owners have more selling options than ever before. The marketplace is far more crowded today than it was even a few years ago. Established giants such as Bring a Trailer, eBay, and Barrett-Jackson now share the spotlight with newer players like Cars & Bids, all competing for the same pool of enthusiast-owned inventory.

A quick look at Bring a Trailer illustrates the challenge. More than 600 Corvettes have been successfully sold on the platform since the beginning of 2026, with another 53 active listings currently competing for buyers’ attention. Compare that to Mecum’s 602 successful Corvette sales during 2026, and the scale of the competition becomes impossible to ignore. For every Corvette crossing a Mecum block, another is finding a home online.

The Convenience Factor Can’t Be Ignored

Online platforms have another advantage that many sellers find difficult to resist: convenience. With the largest, BaT, the photographer comes to your home. The Corvette stays safely in your garage until sold. Dedicated auction representatives handle listing details and auction management. And then you have thousands of enthusiasts flocking to your listing nearly instantly, without a single fingerprint hitting her.

The traditional auction experience requires considerably more commitment. Your beloved ‘Vette must be transported to the venue. It sits among hundreds or thousands of vehicles. Who is driving it? Who is detailing it? If the reserve isn’t met, you’re left wondering about transportation costs, logistics, and potential wear or damage accumulated during the process. For many owners, especially those with highly desirable cars, the online route simply removes a lot of stress from the equation.

Are Owners Simply Refusing To Let Go?

Of course, there may be an even simpler explanation. Corvette owners love their cars—and many may have little interest in replacing them. After the bizarre pricing swings of the Covid-era market, replacement costs remain a concern for enthusiasts who purchased years ago at far lower values. For some owners, selling isn’t the difficult decision. Replacing the car afterward is. Whether it’s a beloved Mid Year, a cherished C5, or a garage-kept C8, many enthusiasts may simply be deciding that the best Corvette to own is the one already sitting in their garage. Until that mindset changes, inventory could remain constrained regardless of how strong buyer demand becomes.

The team at CorvSport will continue tracking every major development until we have more answers than questions. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your theories. Is Mecum losing inventory to online competitors? Are owners holding tighter than ever? Or is something else happening beneath the surface?
