Today, CorvSport is taking a creative and different approach to our ongoing coverage of your National Corvette Museum and NCM Motorsports Park. In our enthusiast circles, the NCM campus is so great and impactful that it can almost be taken for granted. We see the R8C red-carpet Museum deliveries, follow the latest expansion updates, marvel at remarkable exhibits, watch enthusiasts take the ultimate Bowling Green pilgrimage with a Corvette Assembly Plant tour, and hear America’s Sports Car roaring around the NCM Motorsports Park, and think, oh, that’s cool, and move on with our day. It is all part of the rhythm of being Corvette Obsessed. But when we take a step back from our enthusiast bubble and look at these Bowling Green staples through the lens of the “common person,” we begin to see just how remarkable this little corner of South Central Kentucky truly is.
A Fresh Perspective On Corvette Country
Sometimes, it takes someone outside our Corvette-Obsessed world to remind us what makes it so special. When journalists who don’t cover the iconic Corvette every day turn their attention toward America’s Sports Car, they can shine a light on experiences that those of us immersed in this world might occasionally gloss over. Just days ago, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce created a Facebook post that did exactly that, reminding us why the Corvette destinations scattered throughout this quaint Kentucky town resonate not only with lifelong enthusiasts but with visitors from across the country. It is a perspective that strips away the assumption that everyone already understands what makes Bowling Green special and instead celebrates the experiences, people, history, and unmistakable sense of place that make this community a destination.
From 42 Years On The Line To The Museum Floor
Today, we are bringing you these national stories in their unedited forms because the last thing we want to do is water down the passion and emotion the Corvette can elicit from journalists experiencing this world through fresh eyes. From a touching firsthand video from a Corvette Assembly Plant worker with 42 years in the trenches to a journalist’s look at some of the coolest experiences waiting inside the National Corvette Museum and Assembly Plant, these stories come together to paint a compelling picture of what Corvette means beyond the spec sheets, production numbers, and quarter-mile times. This is the human side of America’s Sports Car, told by people who have lived it, discovered it, and found themselves unexpectedly drawn into the magic of Corvette country.
Where Every Generation Comes Alive
Then we head straight to the NCM Motorsports Park, where a refreshingly organic, simple post recently broke down the very essence of why the track exists. Corvette DNA may have evolved from generation to generation, especially from the last of the front-engined Corvettes to the high-revving mid-engined C8 Z06, yet the purpose remains beautifully familiar once the pavement begins to unwind in front of you. The result is enthusiasts from multiple generations, with different budgets and different levels of experience, discovering exactly what the Corvette was born to do: elicit emotion, deliver adrenaline, and create a connection between driver and machine that few vehicles can replicate. And as if all of that is not enough, we are also giving you an opportunity to experience that NCM Motorsports Park adrenaline for yourself. Today, Corvette country is telling its own story—and we think it is one worth hearing exactly as it was meant to be told.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Inside the Skydome of the National Corvette Museum, a cathedral for horsepower, sunlight shines through the glass ceiling onto a display of Corvettes, making visitors like Steve and Rachael Stepro stop in their tracks.
The couple point and chat about every meticulous detail on the 1968 Corvette, which once belonged to astronaut Jim Lovell, and is now located inside the atrium filled with some of the museum’s most significant vehicles.
The Stepros traveled more than 800 miles from Houston, Texas to Bowling Green, Kentucky to see the world’s largest public collection of Chevrolet Corvettes, marking their first visit to the museum despite years of shared passion for the iconic American sports car.
And for the thousands of Corvette fanatics like the Stepros across the U.S. and abroad, Bowling Green is more than just where the Corvette is built.
It’s where the legacy of America’s sports car lives on.

In the more than three decades since the National Corvette Museum opened at 350 Corvette Drive, in Bowling Green, it’s grown from a collection of cars and blueprints to one of Kentucky’s premier tourism attractions. It’s also a catalyst for General Motors, the automaker behind the Chevrolet Corvette, as it continues to inspire the next generation of Corvette enthusiasts.
And, it’s growing. Soon, the museum will expand with a new facility, bringing even more Corvette memorabilia to the masses.
The National Corvette Museum offers one way that gearheads, history lovers, science fiends and the pop culture obsessed can all come together to cherish something that is both deeply American and uniquely Kentuckian…

Story Three: Come inside the factory where Chevrolet hand assembles the Corvette
Author: Olivia Evans
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A high-pitch roar of a world-class performance engine echoes through the Bowling Green Assembly Plant every few minutes. The mechanical rasp lingers in the air, signifying the completion of yet another Chevrolet Corvette.
A quality tester looks both ways, ensuring nothing impedes the path as the newest 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is driven off the assembly line. The wide body sports car is hand polished before it passes through a specialized final inspection area, its flawless paint job reflecting the room’s LED light beams like a jewel under a spotlight.
Soon, the Corvette will be on its way to a dealership where its custom features will catch the eye of a driver eager to join the ranks of sports car owners.
At a time when American automakers like Ford or General Motors, which produces the Corvette, are prioritizing production of highly profitable gas-guzzling pickup trucks and SUVs, the American-made sports car still commands global attention. And each day inside the Bowling Green Assembly Plant, some 1,200 employees spend hours crafting a vehicle that defies much of the utility focus the auto industry has shifted to in the past decade.

The Corvette, which was first released in 1953, is one of the last remaining vehicles of its kind made in America. With its two-seat sports car heritage and bespoke assembly, it’s the pinnacle of American automobiles that has refused to fade out of fashion for more than 70 years. Through continued evolution, Corvette, the longest running continuously produced American sports car, has cemented itself in the automotive world and competes on the global stage with European performance cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini — a major pride point for the American employees, automaker and drivers.
“I think that Corvette has been true to its DNA since we started the brand almost 75 years ago,” Megan Dalley, marketing manager for Chevrolet performance vehicles, told The Courier Journal, part of the USA TODAY Network. “It has always been a representation of what Chevrolet and General Motors is capable of from both a performance on the track and luxury vehicle perspective.”
