CorvSport Exclusive Wholesale Report: Dallas Stays Hot As Corvette Market Myths Unravel

From record sell-through momentum to a single C8 Z06 derailment, our in-house pro breaks down the Dallas dealer-only lanes and what’s next

CorvSport is back again with one of the most closely followed exclusive series on our site, where we examine and analyze the underbelly of a wholesale world many never see—the weekly jockeying of Corvettes among dealers, where real values are established long before they ever reach a used car lot or online listing. For episode 56, our in-house retired dealer, with 17 years under his belt, will once again use his industry access to provide data and insights usually hidden from the buying public.

A Record Run Meets A New Test

We’re coming off a true CorvSport milestone, with our curated Top 7 delivering a record four consecutive 100% sell-through performances. That kind of streak raises the stakes, and today’s group has plenty to prove. This week’s spotlight features three C8 Z06s alongside four C8 Stingrays, a balanced mix that should give us a clean read on both ends of the modern C8 spectrum.

Low Miles, Big Questions

Three of today’s curated cars are 2026 models, and together they’ve traveled just 1,100 miles combined. That alone stops you in your tracks—why are nearly new C8s already cycling through the lanes? While none of the Top 7 carry accident history, condition tells a more nuanced story, with three cars flagged below expectations, including a 2020 model graded as low as a 3.4 out of 5.0.

Base Trims Take Center Stage

We’ve deliberately loaded this week’s mix with five base trims as we continue stress-testing just how strong the Dallas wholesale environment really is. And once again, all seven units come from SuperSeller Texas Auto Value (TAV), giving us a controlled lens to evaluate consistency, strategy, and execution from a single high-volume player.

Dallas Stays In The Spotlight

Zooming out, the broader Dallas lanes continue to provide one of the clearest real-time reads in the country. This week, 34 Corvettes crossed the block—but the bigger question is how many actually converted. Recent weeks tell the story of a market still running hot, with sell-through rates of 91.4% on 3/6/26, 82.35% on 3/19/26, and 84.2% on 4/3/26.

Why You Should Follow The Wholesale Lanes

For enthusiasts, the dealer-only lanes aren’t just auction business—they’re a front-row seat to where the market is headed next. Watching these results unfold gives context that retail listings simply can’t provide.

  • You’re effectively seeing tomorrow’s market today, as strong wholesale performance often tightens retail pricing and limits the room to negotiate.
  • It pulls back the curtain on dealer margins, especially when comparing hammer prices against real-world retail asks.
  • It sharpens your edge as a buyer, putting you ahead of trends and giving you insights most salespeople won’t even have.

All 55 previous installments—along with today’s expanded Dallas coverage—sit just below our Top 7, ready to explore, including a full generation breakdown highlighting which eras are moving the most across the lanes. Now that the stage is set, let’s dive in and see how this week’s wholesale market action unfolds.

Top 7 Spotlight: Wholesale Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report

#7 — 2020 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT

29,008 Miles

Condition Report: 3.4/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR: $58,600

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $61,600 (19,706 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: $55,700 (43,283 mi)
  • Last Year: $63,500 (19,849 mi)

Estimated Retail Value: $60,200

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $55,000

(Dealer Insights: With a 3.4 condition report and 29k miles, this was the first Dallas pressure test, and SuperSeller TAV and the bidding dealers did not disappoint. Despite the gutted cats and tune, this one hammered for a respectable number. At $3,600 under MMR, this Stingray sets the bar high for deal of the day.)

#6 — 2021 C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT

19,099 Miles

Condition Report: 4.6/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR: $56,600

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $56,300 (21,623 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: $51,900 (30,660 mi)
  • Last Year: $55,700 (20,387 mi)

Estimated Retail Value: $58,400

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $59,000

(Dealer Insights: This was a strong hammer price for TAV, and no doubt that the performance exhaust and high-dollar aftermarket wheels helped push her well over MMR. Despite the lack of a rear wing, the “eyes” and other goodies on this beautiful C8 should help propel a quick retail sale.)

#5 — 2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT

24,409 Miles

Condition Report: 4.2/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 4 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR: $63,200

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $67,000 (10,397 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: $61,600 (13,513 mi)
  • Last Year: $68,300 (5,893 mi)

Estimated Retail Value: $66,200

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $64,000

(Dealer Insights: The last Stingray in our imperfect Dallas pressure test passes the test. The four owners, higher miles, and low condition report did not faze these Dallas dealers. The purchasing dealer may face a challenge on the retail end if this Cox retail estimate is accurate.)

#4 — 2024 C8 Z06 Coupe 1LZ

10,667 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR: $95,800

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $101,000 (3,778 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: $92,300 (14,783 mi)
  • Last Year: $101,000 (2,758 mi)

Estimated Retail Value: $97,500

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: After four perfect weeks, it feels awkward to even speculate on why this seemingly perfect C8 Z06 failed to hammer. It’s likely TAV was looking for just a bit more than the dealers were willing to pay for a 2024 Z06 today.)

#3 — 2026 C8 Z06 Coupe 1LZ

786 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR: Not Available (due to limited transaction data)

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $114,000 (454 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: Not available
  • Last Year: Not available

Estimated Retail Value: Not Available

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $112,000

(Dealer Insights: With a starting 2026 MSRP of $120,195 for the 1LZ, margins will be tight for this dealer. Luckily, they’ll have the value from that carbon flash high wing, but this one would keep me up at night.)

#2 — 2026 C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT

214 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

Autocheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR: $69,700

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $69,500 (921 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: Not available
  • Last Year: Not available

Estimated Retail Value: $70,700

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $68,500

(Dealer Insights: This is another one that would make me nervous–actually, any retail unit competing with brand-new would make me think twice about raising my hand. And yet one more unit where the Autocheck history report couldn’t keep up with Carfax, as the AC still has this beauty listed as zero owners.)

#1 — 2026 C8 Z06 Coupe 1LZ

122 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

Autocheck History Report:  Not available

Announcements: None

MMR: Not Available (due to limited transaction data)

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages

  • Past 30 Days: $114,000 (454 average miles)
  • 6 Months Ago: Not available
  • Last Year: Not available

Estimated Retail Value: Not Available

(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)

Auction Results: Sold for $115,000

(Dealer Insights: Again, with 2026 1LZ trims starting at $120,195, this wholesale purchase would keep me up and nervous. The speculative nature of this business, along with the risk, is one of the reasons I’m glad to have made my exit to writing at CorvSport!)

The Final Word

So close to five in a row! Six out of seven still gets the job done, but it’s a seemingly flawless 5.0-condition 2024 Z06 that snaps the streak and keeps this run from perfection. That result also places Texas Auto Value (TAV) at 6-for-7 on the day, a strong showing by any measure. And just as our in-house pro commented, every single 2026 moved—exactly the kind of outcome that looks great on paper but can keep a seasoned buyer up at night.

Our Ongoing Pressure Test

This chapter of our Dallas stress test delivered one of the most telling results yet. A 2020 Stingray, carrying a 3.4 out of 5.0 condition score, four previous owners, and a relatively heavy 29,000 miles, still found a home at just $55,000—one of the lowest Stingray hammer prices we’ve tracked. Our dealer insight framed the unfazed Dallas dealers: “…The purchasing dealer may face a challenge on the retail end if this Cox retail estimate is accurate.” That’s the balance—wholesale confidence versus retail risk—and Dallas continues to lean aggressively.

Quick Dallas Heat Check

This week closes with an 85.29% sell-through rate, as 29 of the 34 Corvettes successfully changed hands. When stacked against recent runs of 91.4%, 82.35%, and 84.2%, the consistency is hard to ignore. The lanes aren’t just active—they’re stable, and that kind of sustained absorption reinforces Dallas as one of the most reliable bellwethers we track.

The “C8 Market Is Crashing” Narrative

If you’ve been scrolling social media lately, you’ve seen the chatter—but the data keeps telling a different story. Take the 2021 Stingray Coupe 1LT as a snapshot: over the past 30 days, it’s averaged $56,300 with 21,623 miles, compared to $51,900 six months ago with 30,660 miles, and $55,700 one year ago at 20,387 miles. That’s not a collapse—that’s resilience with nuance. Pair those figures with Dallas’ strong sell-through rates and the consistent performance of our curated Top 7, and the so-called “crash” looks more like noise than reality. Next up, we are going to test the Dallas market even harder, and then soon we’ll be heading back to Florida to see if they’ve recovered.
