Even more alarming, the entire Dallas market managed only a 21.7% success rate, a stunning departure from the 79.4% average it had maintained since October 23, 2025.

The apparent plunge was tied to what appears to have been an auction-database glitch, meaning the narrative had not been reset after all. Dallas remains one of the hottest wholesale Corvette markets in the country, and that sustained demand continues to serve as another powerful testament to just how revolutionary the mid-engine C8 platform has been. So, with the “the Corvette market is crashing” housekeeping officially out of the way, we can get back to what really matters: the wholesale Corvette story unfolding in Dallas today.

And just like that, Episode 63 delivers exactly what we hoped the Dallas wholesale lanes would deliver: 33 of 40 Corvettes sold for an impressive 82.5% sell-through rate, putting another big checkmark beside the argument that Dallas remains one of the strongest Corvette wholesale markets in the country. Our Top 7 Spotlight was even more impressive, with six of our seven featured Corvettes finding new dealers—and the only holdout just happened to be the history-making 2027 Grand Sport. Even better, all four of our C8 Z06s hammered, which tells us plenty about the continued appetite for Chevrolet’s naturally aspirated, high-revving LT6. As always, the SuperSellers came ready to hammer, proving once again that when the right Corvettes hit these dealer-only lanes, dealers are still raising their hands.

The Mileage Tests Passed With Flying Colors

Our two biggest mileage experiments produced particularly interesting results. The 2021 C8 Stingray 1LT Coupe with a nearly unheard-of 109,084 miles still somehow sold for $43,750. As our retired dealer put it, “Whoa, despite six-digit miles, a 4.4 CR, and that accident on the history report, GMTV still managed to snag $3,850 over MMR!” That is remarkable on its own, but there was another milestone hiding underneath the sale: our dealer believes this is now the cheapest C8 Stingray we have ever seen in the dealer-only lanes.

Meanwhile, the mileage question became even more interesting with the 2023 C8 Z06 Convertible 3LZ, which carried 16,495 miles, a nearly perfect 4.9/5.0 Condition Report, and a spotless one-owner, zero-accident AutoCheck. TAV hammered its first Z06 for $115,000, a respectable $2,000 over MMR. And why shouldn’t it? As our dealer insight perfectly captures, healthy mileage did not scare dealers away because the 670-horsepower LT6 remains “the darling of the C8 world.”

The Grand Sport Gets A Reality Check

Then came the moment we had all been waiting for: the very first 2027 C8 Grand Sport to enter the dealer-only lanes at Manheim. With just 8 miles, a perfect 5.0/5.0 Condition Report, and an AutoCheck showing zero owners and zero accidents, this was history rolling across the block. But history does not always hammer. The Grand Sport ultimately recorded a NO SALE, and, honestly, our dealer was not surprised. The highly anticipated new model may have the name, the pedigree, and the excitement, but the retail market is already seeing discounts from dealers advertising C8 Grand Sports on Facebook, making this a difficult wholesale proposition right out of the gate.

The real question now is where GMTV goes from here with this virtually untouched Grand Sport. For us, however, that no-sale may be every bit as informative as a successful hammer. Episode 63 began with a perfect piece of Corvette symmetry—63 years after the original Grand Sport nameplate was born, the first 2027 Grand Sport entered the wholesale lanes—and it closes by reminding us that even the hottest new Corvette still has to find its price in the real world. Dallas just delivered an 82.5% sell-through, the Top 7 delivered six sales out of seven, and the C8 Z06 market once again flexed its muscle. The wholesale market is talking, and for now, it is saying, loud and clear, that Dallas is still hot.
