CorvSport cranks the excitement up another notch as we roll into Episode 62 of our exclusive wholesale market reports, and this edition is loaded with one of the strongest eighth-generation lineups we’ve seen yet. A stampede of C8 Z06s headlines our carefully curated Top 7 Spotlight, joined by a pair of well-traveled C8 Stingrays that should provide an excellent measuring stick for today’s wholesale landscape. As always, our retired in-house dealer returns to decode what the numbers are really saying while we continue tracking one of the nation’s most fascinating dealer-only markets. After months of blistering wholesale activity, Dallas has finally begun to cool in recent weeks—but is this the start of a larger correction or simply a temporary pause before things heat back up?
Top 7 Spotlight Faces Its Biggest Test Yet
The headline trend entering Episode 62 is impossible to ignore. Our Top 7 Spotlight has produced an intriguing series of results over the past two months, opening at 57% sold on May 12 before surging to an impressive 86% across three consecutive reports on May 29, June 11, and June 25. Now, the latest report from July 17 has come full circle, landing right back at 57%. Are those matching bookends simply a statistical anomaly, or are they the first signs that wholesale demand is beginning to cool after one of the hottest stretches we’ve documented? That’s exactly the question we’ll put before our resident dealer, whose 17 years in the wholesale trenches have taught him how to separate short-term fluctuations from meaningful market shifts.
Dallas Finally Cools After Months Of Red-Hot Sales
Our long-running Dallas market tracker is also showing its first meaningful signs of moderation. Since launching the expanded Dallas coverage, we’ve watched the market post an exceptional 96.7% sell-through rate in mid-May before settling at 93%, 88.7%, and 90.4% over the next three reports. The latest update, however, dipped below the 80% mark for the first time since February, with just 23 of 29 Corvettes selling. Is this a warning signal that one of America’s hottest Corvette wholesale markets is finally losing steam, or merely a blip on the radar after months of remarkable consistency? We’ll dig into the numbers and see whether this softer result deserves attention or simply reflects the normal ebb and flow of dealer auctions.
High-Mileage Z06s, Well-Traveled Stingrays, & Plenty Of Data Ahead
This week’s Top 7 lineup should provide some fascinating answers. We’re following one of the highest-mileage C8 Z06s we’ve ever featured—a 2023 example showing nearly 16,000 miles, three previous owners, and a modest 4.3-out-of-5.0 condition report. Adding even more intrigue, our two C8 Stingrays combine for an astonishing 55,084 miles, a figure that’s practically unheard of in today’s eighth-generation market. The good news for our statistics is that all seven Corvettes are accident-free, allowing mileage, ownership history, and condition to take center stage. With deep discounts continuing on brand-new C8s sitting on dealer lots and fresh LS6-powered 2027 models now rolling off the Bowling Green assembly line, this could be the ultimate stress test for used Z06 and Stingray values. Fortunately, one familiar face could inject some life into the bidding, as SuperSeller Texas Auto Value returns with five Corvettes and a well-earned reputation for bringing units that dealers love to buy.
Why is the wholesale market important to the Corvette enthusiast?
-
When wholesale auctions are buzzing with Corvettes moving quickly down the lanes, it usually signals a lively retail market. In this kind of active used car environment, your room for negotiation may shrink—a key consideration if you’re in the market to buy.
-
These reports also offer a behind-the-scenes look at the profit margins dealers operate with. Surprisingly, the gap between what dealers pay and the final retail price is often smaller than most people assume.
-
Ultimately, knowledge puts you in the driver’s seat. The next time the market comes up in conversation with fellow enthusiasts, you’ll have the facts to impress.
We’ve also packed this report with our exclusive wholesale sales breakdown by generation and the complete archive of every episode, so buckle up—it’s time to kick off CorvSport Wholesale Market Report No. 62!
[Episode 62: 7/31/2026]
Top 7 Spotlight: Wholesale Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report
#7 — 2020 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT
32,720 Miles
Condition Report: 4.6/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 4 owners, 0 accidents
Announcements:
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: When the market tightens, the first thing to go are the imperfect units, and this first-year 4-owner high-mileage Stingray certainly fits the bill. Maybe TAV will be able to hammer its next offering.)
#6 — 2021 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT
22,364 Miles
Condition Report: 4.4/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 3 owners, 0 accidents
Announcements:
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: With strike two for SuperSeller TAV, could we be seeing the crash the internet has been chattering about for months?)
#5 — 2023 C8 Z06 Convertible 3LZ
15,967 Miles
Condition Report: 4.3/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 3 owners, 0 accidents
Announcements: Green Light
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: Sold for $105,000
(Dealer Insights: Finally! Our first wholesale hammer comes from JP Morgan, and at $6,000 under MMR, the bank came ready to sell. You’ll also notice how far below the last 30-day historical average this sale lands us.)
#4 — 2023 C8 Z06 Convertible 3LZ
3,543 Miles
Condition Report: 5.0/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents
Announcements: None
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: Does it feel chilly in here? North Texas Auto Direct, an infrequent C8 seller, likely had a reserve that was just too high for today’s cooling market.)
#3 — 2024 C8 Z06 Convertible 3LZ
4,851 Miles
Condition Report: 5.0/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents
Announcements:
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: Oh boy, when SuperSeller TAV is having a hard time hammering, you know something is up. Maybe it was the oppressive heat in Dallas this week, but the buyers just don’t seem to be there, even when you have a seller ready to hammer and a unit that looks great.)
#2 — 2025 C8 Z06 Coupe 1LZ
5,507 Miles
Condition Report: 4.9/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents
Announcements:
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: Since it’s highly unlikely TAV was buried in this 2025 Z06, I’m starting to lean in the direction that the serious Corvette buyers simply did not show up to this week’s auction. As we’ve said, if the retail inventory is sitting on the used lots, the dealers aren’t going to be replenishing.)
#1 — 2025 C8 Z06 Coupe 1LZ
901 Miles
Condition Report: 5.0/5.0
Autocheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents
Announcements:
MMR Data:
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages:
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Dealer Insights: Yikes, TAV fails to sell its remaining Z06, and we’ll let the Takeway tell the rest of the story.)
The CorvSport Takeaway, With An Asterisk
Today’s report comes with a rare asterisk attached. Since expanding our Dallas wholesale coverage on October 23, 2025, we’ve never encountered numbers like these. The post-sale auction database showed just 10 Corvette sales from an offering of 46 units, a stunning 21.7% sell-through rate that immediately raised eyebrows around the CorvSport office. Digging even deeper only made the results more puzzling, as four of those 10 reported sales were classics. That’s an astonishing 40% of the week’s transactions, despite the first three Corvette generations accounting for just 4.4% of the 521 Corvettes wholesaled through our Dallas tracker since our expanded coverage began. Needless to say, we’re approaching this report with healthy skepticism while documenting exactly what the data is telling us.
A Historic Low Raises More Questions Than Answers
We’ve certainly experienced slow weeks with our Curated Top 7 Spotlight before, but those dry spells have never spilled over into our expanded Dallas market analysis. This week changed that. The Top 7 managed just a 14% sell-through rate, making it the weakest performance we’ve recorded since September 25, 2025. Combined with Dallas’ historically low results, it’s difficult to know whether we’re witnessing the beginning of a meaningful market shift or simply one of the strangest auction weeks we’ve ever tracked. Sometimes the data tells a clear story. This time, it leaves us with far more questions than answers.
Episode 63 Could Define The Rest Of 2026
For now, we’ll faithfully log the numbers—with that important asterisk firmly in place. We even went as far as checking the weather around Wednesday’s Dallas auction, wondering whether a major storm or unforeseen event might have disrupted attendance because the results seemed almost too extreme to believe. So, has the narrative truly shifted, signaling that the used Corvette market has finally cracked under the pressure of new-car discounts and fresh 2027 LS6 production? Or will this week ultimately be remembered as nothing more than an extraordinary statistical outlier? Episode 63 may provide the answer. If these unusually weak numbers persist, the market may indeed be sending us a new message. If they rebound, this report could become one of the biggest anomalies in CorvSport wholesale history. Either way, buckle up—our next installment may be the most revealing one yet.
