C8 Z06s Battle For Dealer Attention As Dallas Defies The Crashing Narrative In CorvSport’s Insider Series From The Dealer-Only Corvette Lanes

Our resident retired dealer takes you behind the wholesale curtain with market insights and data you won’t find anywhere else, while our Curated Top 7 and Dallas sell-through rate deliver another powerful reality check for the used C8 market

We may have never told you this before, but every week when we start preparing our exclusive wholesale report, there is a moment when the excitement kicks in. Maybe it is because we have been doing this for 64 episodes, or perhaps it is the anticipation of pulling back the wholesale curtain and discovering what Corvettes are lurking behind it. What will make our Curated Top 7 this week? Will another rare C8 ZR1 suddenly appear? Could we finally spot our first ZR1X in the dealer-only lanes?

This 2026 1LZ ZR1 sold on 6/24/2026 for $204,000!

Either would be a pretty exciting development in what has become one of CorvSport’s most closely followed series. And speaking of firsts, you may remember that we featured the very first 2027 Grand Sport to reach the dealer-only lanes in our previous episode. It failed to sell that day, but we only missed the next chapter of its story by two days. That same Grand Sport hammered for $96,000 at Dallas’s Friday sale. With just 8 miles on the odometer and a perfect Condition Report, SuperSeller GMTV was bound to find a dealer willing to take the wholesale risk on Chevrolet’s newest Corvette variant.

Manheim’s very first 2027 Grand Sport finally sold for $96,000 on its second attempt!

The Dealer’s Eye Never Really Goes Away

Our retired in-house dealer still loves analyzing the market he spent 17 years navigating, chasing deals on local trade-ins while competing against scores of other dealers looking for that same elusive opportunity. It was frustrating work, to say the least—but every once in a while, you found that one perfect score sitting below MMR, and suddenly the sweat-soaked shirts and burnt foreheads seemed worth it. That perspective is still invaluable today. Every time a C8 crosses our wholesale radar at the right price, we are reminded of just how tedious the process can be when you are trying to source high-quality used vehicles that can ultimately make a profitable journey from the wholesale lanes to the retail showroom.

The Top 5 Wholesale Storylines We’re Following Today:

  1. The Curated Top 7 Test: How many of our hand-picked Top 7 will actually make it across the finish line today? The field is split between four C8 Z06s and three Stingrays, giving us a fascinating look at two very different sides of the modern Corvette market. Even better, for the first time in our series, we have every C8 production year represented (sans 2027). That makes today’s Top 7 more than a collection of desirable Corvettes—it is a snapshot of nearly the entire C8 era.
  2. Heat-Checking The Z06 Market: We are putting the Z06 market under the heat lamp once again, and this time the mileage becomes part of the story. Our 2023 3LZ Coupe has 25,919 miles, a figure that could make some dealers hesitate before raising their hands. With brand-new Z06s receiving heavy discounts, will the margins make sense when the bidding gets serious?
  3. Stress-Testing The Stingray: Just how strong is the C8 Stingray market right now? We have a particularly interesting test subject in today’s lineup: a 2020 3LT Convertible carrying a relatively modest 4.2 out of 5.0 Condition Report and one accident on its history report. That combination gives dealers plenty to consider—and gives us a real-world test of just how much appetite remains for an imperfect but desirable C8.
  4. Is Dallas Still On Fire? The broader Dallas market has given us plenty of reasons to pay attention. Since our expanded coverage began on 10/23/2025, we have tracked an overall 75.9% sell-through rate across the 730 Corvettes offered. But the recent numbers have been even more impressive, with standout weeks reaching 96.7%, 93.0%, and 90.4%. So, does that momentum continue, or is the Dallas market finally ready to cool off?
  5. Four From TAV: SuperSeller Texas Auto Value (TAV) is bringing serious representation to today’s Top 7 Spotlight with four Corvettes in our curated lineup. That is a significant presence in a field of just seven cars, and TAV has developed a reputation for bringing units that are ready to hammer. The question is whether dealers will agree—or whether TAV will discover the market is unwilling to pay what they need to get out of each unit.

And that is exactly why this series matters to the enthusiast. The wholesale lanes may be dealer-only, but what happens there eventually works its way into the retail market—and that makes these numbers an important early indicator of where Corvette values, demand, mileage tolerance, condition expectations, and generation-specific interest may be heading. Episode 64 gives us another opportunity to pull back that curtain, with our Curated Top 7, the latest results from our expanded Dallas coverage, and the exact sales performance of each Corvette generation offered in Dallas since late 2025. And because the story is bigger than any single auction day, we have the full archive of 63 previous episodes waiting for you as well. So, let’s see what the dealer-only lanes have in store today—and find out which Corvettes are ready to hammer, which ones are headed home, and what it all means for the market beyond the auction block.

Top 7 Spotlight: Wholesale Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report

#7 — 2020 C8 Stingray Convertible 3LT

15,824 Miles

Condition Report: 4.2/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 1 accident

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $56,200

(Dealer Insights: This one had just enough “eyes” and add-ons to get the hammer, despite the not-so-great condition and history reports. This is the only Top 7 offering from our other SuperSeller, GiveMeTheVin. They were undoubtedly in a great position to sell her. I’ve heard a few interesting tidbits about GMTV on the forums lately, namely that they tend to “lowball” enthusiasts looking to sell to them. In fairness, they are a wholesaler after all, and the takeaway is that they usually aren’t buried in a unit. And not to bury the lead, but at $8,100 under MMR, not only is this likely to be the deal of the day, but it may just be the deal of the year.)

#6 — 2021 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT

17,917 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $65,500

(Dealer Insights: And just like that, we are back to an over-MMR trend we noticed on our last report. TAV hammers their first of 4 units over what Mannheim’s algorithms say, albeit just by $1,400. That could be the “resell-red” effect I learned about early in my dealer journey. We are on a roll; can our Top 7 keep the sales momentum going?!)

#5 — 2022 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT

17,470 Miles

Condition Report: 4.4/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 3 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $63,000

(Dealer Insights: As TAV hammers their second in a row, take a look at those historical averages and notice how today’s hammer price is in line with values from 6 months ago. Not only does that show a stable market, but it also shows that dealers are willing to overlook low condition reports and multiple owners to secure sub-$65,000 top-trim Stingrays.)

#4 — 2023 C8 Z06 Coupe 3LZ

25,919 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $95,500

(Dealer Insights: Despite a $5,020 hit for the miles, this Z06 still hammered for $2,500 under MMR. A sub-$100k retail price point for this top-trim 2023 unit will present great value for the end buyer and some decent profit for the dealer. TAV is now 3 for 3!)

#3 — 2024 C8 Z06 Convertible 2LZ

14,106 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $105,500

(Dealer Insights: With this Z06 hammering $1,500 under MMR, TAV goes 4 for 4 in our Top 7 Spotlight. Up next are dealers we rarely see in the wholesale lanes–will they keep our streak going?!)

#2 — 2025 C8 Z06 Coupe 3LZ

8,258 Miles

Condition Report: 4.3/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: With TAV’s two Zo6 sales, we’ve established the buyers were at the Dallas lanes today. This no-sale illustrates the difference between our SuperSellers, who know how to avoid getting buried in their units, and dealers who “hope” to find a dealer willing to meet their reserve. The 4.3 CR likely didn’t help either.)

#1 — 2026 C8 Z06 Coupe 3LZ

3,059 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

*Manheim did not have enough transaction data to provide a value for this vehicle*

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: Well, we came out of the gate strong, then our two Chevy dealers turned the lights out on what could have been another 100% milestone.)

The CorvSport Takeaway

As you’ll see in our expanded data below, Dallas may have been light on inventory today, offering just 21 Corvettes, but the dealers certainly weren’t light on enthusiasm. Nineteen sold for a remarkable 90.5% sell-through rate, giving us another clear signal that dealers are still raising their hands when the right Corvettes come through the lanes. In a wholesale market where inventory is becoming increasingly precious, that 90.5% number tells a pretty compelling story: dealers still need cars, and when they find the right ones, they are willing to pull the trigger.

TAV Delivers, And The Dealers Don’t Blink

Texas Auto Value did exactly what we expected, selling all four of its Corvettes in our Top 7—two Stingrays and two Z06s. Meanwhile, our two Top 7 no-sales came from Chevy dealers who were most likely already buried in their trades, illustrating an important difference in the wholesale game. As our resident dealer put it: “This no-sale illustrates the difference between our SuperSellers, who know how to avoid getting buried in their units, and dealers who ‘hope’ to find a dealer willing to meet their reserve.”

That is a distinction worth remembering because the wholesale lanes have a way of exposing the difference between a seller who understands the market and one who simply needs the market to agree with them. On the other side of the block, today’s dealers certainly did not blink at the 25,919 miles on our 2023 3LZ Z06. The result? A sub-$100,000 flat-plane-crank beast that looks poised to be a very hot commodity once it makes the jump from wholesale to retail.

The Deal Of The Day—And A Bigger Market Takeaway

And then there was our most flawed Corvette—the 2020 3LT Convertible with its 4.2/5.0 Condition Report and one accident on the history report. Instead of scaring dealers away, those blemishes created an opportunity, and that Stingray became the story of the day. As our resident dealer noted, “At $8,100 under MMR, not only is this likely to be the deal of the day, but it may just be the deal of the year.”

That is exactly the kind of wholesale story we love to uncover. Across our seven curated Corvettes, a 71% sell-through rate is something we will happily take to the bank as a successful curation. And when we zoom back out to the bigger Dallas picture, the takeaway becomes even more interesting: one of the largest wholesale markets in the country continues to defy the narrative you may be seeing across social media. The used C8 market is not crashing. It is being tested, repriced, sorted, and—when the right cars come along—bought. Today, Dallas gave us 21 opportunities, dealers bought 19 of them, and once again the lanes delivered a message that Corvette enthusiasts should be paying attention to.
