2010 Corvette ZR1
The great recession continued to impact Corvette production in 2010. A total of only 12,194 Corvettes rolled off the end of the assembly line for the 2010 production model year, down 28.1% from 2009’s paltry 16,956 units.
1989 Corvette
For the first time in several years, the 1989 model year would actually see an increase in the total sales numbers of the Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet sold a total of 26,412 Corvettes in 1989.
The first mid-engined Corvette came along during a pandemic. That didn't stop Chevy from selling 20,368 units in its first year (at premium prices I might add), even with a global chip shortage stopping production in both 2020 and 2021.
Production of the 2021 Mid-Engine Corvette Stingray was cut short by General Motors. Production of the 2021 MY (model years) was paused in May and June, 2021, due in large part to an ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips. The Coupe proved the more popular bodystyle.
2014 Corvette Stingray
In 2014, a total of 37,288 Corvettes were produced. Production volume was strong for the first year of C7 production at Bowling Green, KY. C7 sales were off to a flying start after a bit of a slowdown at the end of the C6...
The 2022 Mid-Engine Corvette certainly provided consumers with plenty to be excited about.  To commemorate the C8.R race car's inaugural season, Chevrolet offered its consumers a special, limited-edition appearance package on the 2022 Corvette that was inspired by the IMSA GTLM championship-winning race cars. Only 1000 examples were built, and the package added $6595 to the car's sell price.
1977 Corvette
The 1977 Corvette set another new sales and production record at 49,213 units. The popularity of the Chevy Corvette throughout the 1970’s was proven time and again by the year over year increase in sales numbers despite the dramatic increases in cost.
corvette sales and production numbers
Covid and supply chain issues did nothing to slow down the demand for the Corvette. The real question is whether there were lasting impacts from these big global events that impacted just how many Corvettes are produced. The good news is that the Corvette continue to win awards and it is in high demand. Let's take a look at Corvette sales volumes for the last few years and see just how it stacks up vs yesteryear.
1963 Corvette Sting Ray Z06
The chassis featured an independent rear suspension with a single transverse leaf spring. 1963 was a big production year with the first year of the C2 Corvette seeing production of 21,513 units (and still demand exceeded supply).
corvette monthly and quarterly sales
Earlier this month, Corvsport.com presented the sales statistics the most recent Corvette sales. We thought we'd take a moment to break down the sales numbers by month for the each generation.  For all Corvette owners (and prospective owners), these numbers are a key indicator of how the Corvette is performing in the marketplace.
2017 Corvette C7 Z06
In 2017, a total of 32,782 Corvettes were produced. Production volume was down almost 8,000 units versus 2016 despite the introduced of the Z06 convertible and the Grand Sport Coupe and Convertible variants.
2012 Corvette ZR1
Corvette production was basically flat in 2012. The poor 2009 - 2011 production volumes continued essentially as Chevy was unable to get improved demand. A total of only 11,647 Corvettes rolled off the assembly line.
