Currently offered on Bring a Trailer, this yellow-over-black 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a highly desirable example in its own right. Previously restored to Bloomington Gold standards, it earned certification in 1993. The current owner acquired the car in 2019, and it later achieved the prestigious NCRS Duntov Award in September 2025 following mechanical refurbishment.
This accolade requires a minimum 97% judging score at both a regional or national National Corvette Restorers Society event and the NCRS National Convention—an honor earned by fewer than 1,200 Corvettes.
Rotisserie-restored, the Corvette is equipped with an impressive list of performance features, highlighted by its matching-numbers 427ci L36 V8, factory rated at 390 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission paired with a Positraction differential.
The car rides on 15-inch steel wheels wrapped in B.F. Goodrich Silvertown-branded bias-ply whitewall tires. Exterior features include a black soft top, Soft Ray tinted glass, a driver-side mirror, and a retractable antenna. Inside, amenities consist of air conditioning, a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, power windows, and lap belts.
Originally sold through Hunt for Chevrolets, Inc., the Corvette is accompanied by extensive documentation verifying its provenance, including a Protect-O-Plate, owner’s manual, service records, NCRS awards, and judging sheets.
