The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible represents one of the final and most mechanically distinctive expressions of the sixth-generation C6 Corvette. Combining the high-revving 7.0-liter LS7 V8 from the Z06 with open-top driving, a six-speed manual transmission, and chassis hardware developed for serious performance, the limited-production model occupies a special position in Corvette history. A low-mileage example finished in Torch Red is now offered without reserve on Bring a Trailer.
Chevrolet produced just 2,552 examples of the 427 Convertible for the 2013 model year. Conceived as a celebration of the Corvette’s big-displacement heritage, it combined the Z06’s naturally aspirated engine with the convertible body style, creating a package that prioritized driver involvement over the complexity of forced induction or hybrid assistance.
This example shows approximately 5,000 miles and is finished in Torch Red, complemented by a power-retractable black soft top. Its exterior features include a raised carbon-fiber hood, Z06-style carbon-fiber front fenders, a rear spoiler, xenon headlights, fog lights, and polished quad exhaust outlets.
The car rides on staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear multi-spoke alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tires bearing 2012 date codes. Magnetorheological dampers provide electronically adjustable suspension control, while cross-drilled and ventilated brake discs with red Corvette-branded calipers handle braking duties.
At the heart of the 427 is Chevrolet’s 7.0-liter LS7 V8, featuring a dry-sump lubrication system and factory ratings of 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The engine’s high-revving character and naturally aspirated delivery distinguish it from the supercharged LS9-powered C6 ZR1. Power reaches the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential. A factory dual-mode exhaust system further reinforces the car’s performance-oriented specification, while the manual transmission preserves the direct mechanical engagement increasingly sought by enthusiasts.
The cabin is trimmed in Ebony leather and microsuede, with contrast stitching, Corvette-logo seatbacks, and heated power-adjustable bucket seats. The factory 1SC Preferred Equipment Group and 427 Heritage Package add desirable equipment, including driver-seat memory, 427-branded floor mats, and the distinctive carbon-fiber hood.
Additional features include navigation, a Bose sound system, Keyless Access, push-button starting, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and a head-up display. The instrument cluster includes a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,000-rpm redline. Offered by a dealer in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, the Corvette is accompanied by its owner’s manual, a Wisconsin title, and a Carfax report showing no accidents or other reported damage.
