WHOLESALE MARKET REPORT: Never Seen Before—Our Very First ZR1X Corvette & 3 C8 ZR1s In The Dealer-Only Lanes

CorvSport’s most-followed feature makes history—join the Insider Series that has taken thousands of enthusiasts behind the wholesale curtain since 2024, with exclusive insights from our resident retired dealer

To say we are excited about Episode 68 of our exclusive insider series would be the understatement of the year. There are Corvette stories, and then there are the stories unfolding behind the scenes in the dealer-only lanes, where the numbers tell a tale that even the most seasoned enthusiast might miss. That’s where our in-house retired dealer earns his keep. With 17 years of firsthand automotive experience and an insider’s understanding of wholesale dynamics, he brings us a perspective that goes far beyond the auction block.

Our exclusive reports connect the dots between dealer behavior, inventory decisions, hammer prices, and the real-world forces shaping the Corvette market. For enthusiasts trying to understand where values are headed, which cars are attracting serious money, and whether today’s asking prices have any basis in reality, that kind of intelligence is invaluable. And if you thought we had seen it all, buckle up: Episode 68 is delivering a trio of historic firsts, a heavyweight battle between two of Dallas’s most formidable wholesale players, and another round of market data that refuses to tell a simple story.

Today’s Top 3 Storylines: History, Heavyweights, And Market Whiplash

1. History In The Dealer-Only Lanes: A Day Of Firsts

Some days deliver interesting inventory. Others make a little Corvette history. Episode 68 gives us both. For the first time ever, a 2027 Corvette ZR1X is rolling through the Dallas dealer-only lanes, and it’s also the first ZR1X to land in our Curated Top 7. But that’s only half the story: We’ve also assembled our first-ever Top 7 featuring THREE C8 ZR1s. Leading the Top 7 charge is that freshly minted 2027 ZR1X 3LZ Coupe straight off the Bowling Green Assembly line, showing just 238 miles and zero owners on its AutoCheck History Report. Joining it are two 2025 ZR1 3LZ Convertibles with a combined 11,129 miles—a surprisingly high accumulation for Chevrolet’s halo model—and a 2026 ZR1 3LZ Coupe with 1,263 clicks.

Adding another wrinkle, two of our three ZR1s show zero owners on their history reports. It’s an extraordinary collection of modern Corvette firepower, but rarity and horsepower alone don’t guarantee a sale. Over our last four episodes, Curated Top 7 sell-through rates have swung from 71% to 100%, down to 43%, and back up to 86%. And with seven 100% sell-through performances over the past 12 months, the question is whether this week’s headline-making lineup will deliver another clean sweep—or remind us that even the mightiest Corvettes must answer to the market.

2. The Big-Gun SuperSellers Battle

If there were ever a week for our SuperSellers to shine, this is it. Texas Auto Value (TAV) and GiveMeTheVin (GMTV) have consistently established themselves as two of the most formidable wholesale operators in the Dallas market, and both arrive with the kind of inventory strategy that deserves a closer look. These sellers aren’t simply showing up with desirable Corvettes and hoping the room gets excited. They come prepared to move metal, set their reserves to compete, and put themselves in a position to convert buyer interest into actual sales.

In wholesale, that distinction matters: A car can look spectacular on paper, but if its seller is buried too deep in the numbers, the deal can disappear before the bidding gets serious. TAV and GMTV have demonstrated a knack for staying in the fight rather than letting inventory become an expensive parking lot. With a three-ZR1 headline act and a market that’s been anything but predictable, this week offers the perfect stage for the two SuperSellers to show why they remain names to watch. The question isn’t just which cars they bring to the lanes; it’s which operation can turn opportunity into results when the hammer falls.

3. A Dallas Market All Over The Map

Dallas continues to give Corvette watchers plenty to chew on, but consistency isn’t exactly this market’s calling card. Across our last five reports—from August 13 through October 9, 2026—we tracked 142 Corvettes, 109 of which sold, with sell-through rates ranging from 60.9% to 90.5%. The latest report showed improvement at 71.4%, with 25 of 35 cars finding buyers, following September 24’s decidedly softer 60.9% result. That’s a meaningful rebound, but it still falls short of the 82.5% recorded on August 13 and the impressive 90.5% posted just two weeks later.

Zoom out, and the broader Dallas database tells an even bigger story: 832 Corvettes offered, 630 sold, and a running average sell-through rate of 75.7%. In other words, roughly three out of every four Corvettes have found buyers across the full dataset, but that aggregate success rate masks the turbulence beneath the surface. Buyers are showing up, sellers are making deals, and certain inventory is clearly connecting—but the results suggest that getting the price, product, and timing right remains critical. Dallas isn’t sending a single, unmistakable signal about the wholesale Corvette market. It’s sending several at once, and Episode 68 may give us another clue about which direction the needle is moving

1 – Top 7 Curated Spotlight: Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report

#7 – 2020 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT

18,280 Miles

Condition Report: 4.9/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $53,250

(Dealer Insights: TAV hammers their first and illuminates the broader narrative we’ve been covering in the used Corvette market. Look at how steady those wholesale values are over the last 12 months–the market is far from “crashing.” At $1,550 under MMR, the buying dealer will be able to bring a lightly used 2LT Stingray to market for well under $60,000.)

#6 – 2021 C8 Stingray Convertible 1LT

13,199 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $58,750

(Dealer Insights: At $2,850 under MMR, the dealer who had their hand up last is working with some great margins and value–now whether they decide to pass that along to the end consumer is a different story.)

#5 – 2024 C8 Z06 Convertible 2LZ

6,843 Miles

Condition Report: 4.7/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $100,000

(Dealer Insights: GMTV comes out of the gate strong and hammers their first at $3,000 under MMR, proving that TAV isn’t the only wholesaler who can give dealers a deal. I’m loving the resale red and the lowered stance on this Z.)

#4 – 2025 C8 ZR1 Convertible 3LZ

6,761 Miles

Condition Report: 4.6/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: We always used to joke when a selling dealer had a plethora of announcements on their unit, especially if they marked up the glass to really make sure you knew how great it was–sometimes this indicated they were buried in the unit and desperate to sell. Probably not the case with GMTV here, but I’m always reminded of that dynamic when I see so many announcements. I’ll chalk this no-sale up to the miles and 4.6 condition report.)

#3 – 2025 C8 ZR1 Convertible 3LZ

4,368 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: This ZR1 looked much better on paper, with a 5.0 CR and lower miles, but GMTV still couldn’t find a dealer willing to bid over its reserve. Could it be that this SuperSeller put too much money in her? It’s somewhat rare, but that’s my guess.)

#2 – 2026 C8 ZR1 Coupe 3LZ

1,263 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $227,500

(Dealer Insights: SuperSeller TAV saves the ZR1-day, and one of our history-making trio finally moves on to the retail lot. At a whopping $16,500 under MMR, it’s amazing that TAV was able to hammer her. And it highlights why GMTV may have been unable to sell their ZR1s–the market today was well under MMR.)

#1 – 2027 C8 ZR1X Coupe 3LZ

238 Miles

Condition Report: 4.8/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 0 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $310,000

(Dealer Insights: Well, thankfully, all our hype for the first 2027 ZR1X to roll through the Dallas lanes and our Curated Top 7 was warranted! What a sale. TAV did not disappoint and once again was in a position to hammer.)

4 – Our Final Word

We didn’t intend to bury the lead, but sometimes the most important story isn’t the one with the biggest engine or the loudest auction-lane entrance. It’s the one that tells us what’s really happening in the market. Texas Auto Value (TAV) hammered its first car of the day, a lightly used 2LT Stingray, and our in-house dealer saw the bigger picture immediately: “Look at how steady those wholesale values are over the last 12 months—the market is far from crashing…” That’s the kind of real-world insight that makes these reports matter. Forget the internet noise, the doom-and-gloom predictions, and the latest hot take about collapsing used-Corvette values. These historical averages are built on actual wholesale transactions, not speculation. They give us hard data to separate market reality from online chatter, and that’s precisely why we keep tracking the numbers.

The ZR1X Makes History, But The ZR1s Deliver A Reality Check

The Texas wholesale history books now have their first entry: the first 2027 Corvette ZR1X to roll through the Dallas dealer-only lanes and appear in our Curated Top 7, hammered for an eye-opening $310,000! This 3LZ Coupe made an unforgettable debut—and gave us a $310,000 data point on one of the most consequential new Corvettes to hit the wholesale market. Our history-making Curated Top 7 finished 5-for-7, delivering a respectable 71% sell-through rate.

But the headline-grabbing trio of C8 ZR1s didn’t exactly sweep the lanes: two of the three failed to sell, and both belonged to GiveMeTheVin (GMTV). For all the firepower, rarity, and halo-car prestige on display, even a ZR1 has to meet the market where it lives. Fortunately, TAV came to the rescue. As our in-house dealer put it, “SuperSeller TAV saves the ZR1-day, and one of our history-making trio finally moves on to the retail lot.” That single sale was enough to keep our unprecedented ZR1 lineup from being a complete no-show, but the broader lesson is worth remembering: desirable inventory attracts attention, yet attention alone doesn’t make a deal. Five sales out of seven is solid work, although the two ZR1 no-sales remind us that even the most coveted modern Corvettes aren’t immune to wholesale reality.

TAV Lands The Knockout Punch, While Dallas Heats Up Again

The heavyweight showdown between our SuperSellers belonged to TAV. Texas Auto Value went a perfect four-for-four, delivering the kind of clean sweep that leaves little doubt about who brought the bigger gun to the lanes. GMTV had its opportunities, but with both of its featured ZR1s failing to sell, this round goes decisively to TAV. Meanwhile, the broader Dallas market delivered another impressive reversal, with 28 of 33 Corvettes selling for an 84.8% sell-through rate this week. That’s a substantial rebound from the previous report’s 71.4%, continuing the whiplash that has defined recent results.

Yet the bigger picture offers some perspective: our cumulative database now stands at 865 Corvettes offered, 658 sold, and a 76.1% sell-through rate. Dallas is heating up again, but we’re not ready to declare a new market direction based on one strong report. Episode 68 leaves us with a more useful conclusion: the wholesale Corvette market isn’t moving in one straight line. Individual models, seller strategies, and pricing decisions can produce wildly different outcomes on the same auction day. The internet may keep shouting that the market is either booming or busting, but our historical averages tell a more measured story. We’ll keep following the transactions, tracking the trends, and letting the hard data do the talking—because when it comes to understanding Corvette values, the truth is found in what actually sells, not simply what enthusiasts say.
