Watch The Story Of A Rare Callaway B2K Corvette

The base C4 Corvette, introduced in 1984, was Motor Trend’s Car of the Year and a major leap in performance and refinement. By 1987, Chevrolet partnered with Callaway to offer a twin-turbo version (RPO B2K) as a factory option. Cars were shipped from Bowling Green to Callaway’s shop in Connecticut, modified, and then delivered to dealers with a full GM warranty.

The 1987 Callaway featured twin turbos, intercoolers, signature megaphone exhausts, and twin NACA ducts on the hood. Otherwise, it looked stock—a true sleeper. It produced 345 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque (or around 400 hp with the “Wonderbar” option). The Z51 suspension made it firm but composed, offering sharp handling and balanced cornering—though with no traction or stability control, it demanded skill.

Collector Alex Leventhal’s Callaway B2K, finished in a rare “Smurf Blue” exterior and interior, is number 111 of only 184 built. See the story behind this C4 Callaway Corvette in this video from Petrolicious on YouTube, and how it serves as a reminder of when Chevrolet embraced innovation and dared to challenge the best.
