Alanis King reviews the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray, revisiting the mid-engine sports car that redefined the model in 2020. Once praised for delivering supercar looks and performance at a relatively attainable price, the question now is whether it still lives up to that reputation years later.
This Roswell Green 2LT example, equipped with the Z51 performance package, produces 495 horsepower from a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. While largely unchanged from its debut, the C8 continues to stand out with bold styling, a driver-focused cockpit, and surprising everyday usability—though not without compromises.
King highlights strong performance, responsive handling, and impressive braking, but notes drawbacks such as firm seats on long drives, excessive cabin noise, and the absence of features like adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera. Interior ergonomics also remain divisive due to the button-heavy layout.
Despite rising prices, the C8 Stingray still offers exceptional value compared to traditional mid-engine rivals, maintaining its identity as a uniquely accessible American supercar.
