Did This Remarkable ’53 Kindig CF1 Custom Roadster Beat The Recent $770k Record?

Another stunning example showed up at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale spectacle; do we have a new record?

Another remarkable creation from Dave Kindig

When the Number 005 Kindig-It Design CF1 Roadster hammered at this year’s Mecum Kissimmee auction for $770,000, it was a historic benchmark sale for Dave Kindig. The 1953 CF1 series was his first venture into a “series-built” car, and this extraordinary custom Corvette has been sending ripples throughout the community since its debut to the world at the 2021 SEMA show. The name may sound familiar, as Dave Kindig’s reality TV show Bitchin’ Rides, where Dave and his cohorts restore and rebuild unique vehicles, has made an impression on enthusiasts across the country.

  • Other performance highlights include a floor-shifted GM 4L80E automatic transmission, independent rear suspension, and Wilwood 14-inch disc brakes mounting 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers.
