The first Z06 was actually an option package first offered with the 1963 Corvette. The package was developed by Corvette’s legendary lead engineer and racing advocate Z0ra Arkus-Duntov. The Z06 option was designed to allow consumers to bolster the 1963 “Split-Window” Corvettes performance and handling capabilities for use on the race track.

63-7 were without a doubt the best lookin vettes ever IMO, but technology moves on as modern suspensions as well as drivetrains excell making a 63-7 restomod my favorite if $$$ were no object
We are right there with you. Imagine having a 1963 Split-Window coupe with the horsepower, handling and improved reliability of a newer Corvette. Unfortunately, buying such a car – while possible – is ridiculously expensive. However, as you said, if money were no object, I know what I’d be spending some of mine on….
