Constructed by Callaway Competition GmbH in Leingarten, Germany, the C7 GT3-R debuted in 2015 as the company’s successor to the C6-based Z06-R. Developed for FIA GT3 competition, the race car features a reinforced aluminum chassis integrated with carbon-fiber panels, while its lightweight bodywork was extensively optimized for aerodynamic efficiency.
Just eight GT3-R examples were produced by Callaway Competition for FIA GT3 racing, and one is currently listed for sale on Bring a Trailer. Originally campaigned in Swedish time-attack competition, the car later competed in the Norwegian GT Championship under subsequent ownership.
This example wears a yellow-and-black livery complemented by yellow-tinted headlight covers. Its carbon-fiber aerodynamic package includes a prominent front splitter, an adjustable rear wing mounted above the rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser. Additional race-focused details include a roof hatch, removable doors and windows, front and rear tow straps, and side-exit exhaust outlets.
Black-finished forged aluminum OZ Racing wheels measure 18×12.5 inches up front and 18×13 inches at the rear, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport slick tires. Braking is handled by Brembo hardware featuring forged aluminum six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers paired with slotted and ventilated rotors measuring 390 mm and 330 mm, respectively. Adjustable brake bias and dedicated cooling ducts are fitted at each corner.
Inside, the cockpit is centered around a multifunction steering yoke with shift paddles mounted to a quick-release hub ahead of a Bosch digital display. A single Racetech racing seat trimmed in red cloth is equipped with a six-point Sabelt harness, while drilled pedals are mounted to an adjustable pedal box. Safety systems include a red-painted roll cage, side nets, and an integrated fire-suppression system.
Power comes from a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 built by APP Racing and rated at 600 horsepower. The engine features an aluminum block with iron cylinder sleeves, aluminum cylinder heads, dry-sump lubrication, programmable Bosch engine management, and a FAST LSXR 102 intake manifold.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a carbon-fiber driveshaft and a rear-mounted Xtrac six-speed sequential transaxle paired with a Sachs clutch and a MEGA-Line paddle-shift actuator. The rose-jointed suspension setup incorporates double wishbones, adjustable Bilstein coilovers, and adjustable anti-roll bars at both ends.
