Zygrene takes an in-depth look at the track-oriented character of the Chevrolet C7 Grand Sport, a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 performance car designed to bridge the gap between the standard Stingray and the more extreme Z06. Equipped with the Z07 package, the Grand Sport combines the widebody chassis, aerodynamic upgrades, and track-focused hardware of the Z06 with the more manageable 460-horsepower LT1 V8 and 7-speed manual transmission.

This particular example retains its factory magnetic ride suspension and rear leaf springs while benefiting from carefully selected performance upgrades. AP Racing brake components, Ferodo racing pads, Apex wheels, aggressive Nankang CRS tires, and a track-focused alignment significantly sharpen the car’s handling capabilities without compromising its street manners. Interior equipment includes the 3LT package, Performance Data Recorder, head-up display, and Recaro Pole Position seat, maintaining a balance between comfort and motorsport intent.

During evaluation, the Grand Sport demonstrates impressive composure, strong front-end grip, and substantial steering feedback, especially in Track mode where the steering and suspension become notably more aggressive.

The naturally aspirated V8 delivers immediate throttle response and broad low-end torque, while the manual gearbox offers a heavy yet rewarding mechanical feel. Despite its track-focused setup, the car remains comfortable enough for regular road use, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most capable and well-rounded streetable track cars available in its price range.
