Reintroduced to the Corvette lineup in 2009, the ZR1 returned as the most powerful production vehicle ever offered by General Motors at the time, boasting a 638 HP supercharged 6.2L LS9 V8 engine. This powerplant featured a positive-displacement Roots-type supercharger with four-lobe rotors, 9.1:1 compression, and a 10.5-quart dry-sump oil system.
Capable of exceeding 200 MPH, it significantly outperformed the legendary 1990–1995 ZR1. Additional performance highlights included active handling, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion steering, and massive Brembo brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. In 2010, production increased to 1,577 units.
While the ZR1 was already a top-tier performer, this particular 2010 example—now listed on Bring a Trailer—is the only C6 ZR1 modified with Hennessey Performance’s HPE1000 package. This $67,000+ upgrade added a larger supercharger, forged engine internals, an upgraded fuel system, and revised camshaft, valvetrain, and cylinder heads.
Finished in Jetstream Blue Metallic over black leather, this ZR1 features a 6-speed manual transaxle, limited-slip differential, carbon-ceramic brakes with Brembo calipers, Magnetic Ride Control, 19″ HPE lightweight wheels, and a head-up display.
The interior includes power-adjustable bolstered seats embroidered with ZR1 logos, dual-zone automatic climate control, Keyless Access with push-button start, and Hennessey-branded carbon-fiber door sill guards. A fire extinguisher is mounted in the trunk.
