From March 17–21, Mecum rolled into Glendale, Arizona, for its second big tent sale of 2026, transforming State Farm Stadium into a five-day hub of collector car energy. Enthusiasts from across the country converged on one of the largest auctions in the business, where more than 1,300 vehicles crossed the block. With Kissimmee setting the tone earlier this year, Glendale arrived as the next proving ground—another opportunity to see how the market responds as the season begins to take shape.

A Market Still Searching For Its Temperature

With Mecum’s Corvette inventory down 16% since 2024, but sell-through rates trending upward, 2026 is shaping up to be a true collector-car heat check. Glendale adds another layer to that story. Are buyers staying aggressive as supply tightens, or are they becoming more selective as the year progresses? Early signals suggest a market that’s neither surging nor slipping outright—but instead adjusting in real time, depending on the Corvettes and the confidence behind them.

The Numbers Behind The Mecum Story

Beyond the block–How Mecum Glendale trends have evolved since 2024, and a snapshot of the totals:

  • Glendale 2025: 113 Corvettes offered — 71 sold (63%)

What stands out immediately is Glendale’s rebound in 2026. Inventory held flat year-over-year at 113 Corvettes, but sales jumped to 81 units, pushing the sell-through rate up to 72%—a meaningful climb from the 63–64% range seen in 2024 and 2025. That improvement aligns closely with the broader 2026 trend, where total sell-through sits at 72.76% across 514 Corvettes offered so far. In other words, while supply has clearly tightened since 2024, Glendale shows that when the right cars meet the right buyers, results can outperform prior history.

Tight Supply, Steady Hands

The broader market backdrop continues to evolve in a way that’s hard to ignore. As we noted, Mecum’s Corvette volume dropped from 1,701 cars in 2024 to 1,429 in 2025—a 16% reduction, or 272 fewer examples. But instead of dragging results down, that reduced supply has been met with firmer execution. Sell-through climbed from 70.2% (1,194 sold) in 2024 to 74.9% (1,071 sold) in 2025, meaning the overall decline in sales was limited to just 123 cars. The takeaway isn’t softness—it’s selectivity. Fewer cars, but a buyer base that’s still willing to engage when the quality and presentation line up.
