Feast Your Eyes on This Awesome Retractable Hardtop C8 Corvette Rendering

C8 Corvette Convertible

It’s Such a Handsome Looking Car

There’s still a lot of speculation out there about the C8 Corvette. General Motors has revealed the car’s release date, and we were able to figure out where the company will be hosting the event. However, there are still a lot of unanswered questions about the upcoming car. MidEngine Corvette Forum user Chazcron may have some answers with his most recent rendering of the car.

He did a rendering of the C8 as a hardtop convertible, focusing on showing the top fold down and out of the way. In the description for the video, he says, “Here’s my speculation on how the 2020 Corvette hard top convertible will operate …” Chazcron’s rendering would seem possible.

It appears in the rendering that the roof panel would slide back under the cowl which would rise up not unlike the Mazda MX-5 RF. The roof would slide in behind the rear firewall and the engine. This idea honestly makes a lot of sense if Chevy could pull it off.

It’s unclear how accurate Chazcron’s rendering actually is. Little is known about the upcoming C8 Corvette convertible, though a topless variant of the car will be coming. It will be interesting to see how accurate he is when Chevy officially unveils the car.
