Not a Huge Surprise

Different Car, Different Shape

With 2020 Corvette Coupes and 2020 Corvette Convertibles now showing up at owner’s doors, we can begin to assess the many differences between the two cars. First up, the trunks.

The trunk in the Coupe is different than the one in the Convertible. We’re not saying one is better than the other, but photos posted to CorvetteBlogger clearly show some differences. The difference is small, but there is a notable shape difference and the reason is the convertible top.

With the Corvette Coupe, you have a removable roof panel that can be stored in the trunk. This necessitates the trunk to be a little larger. It’s helpful when the Coupe’s roof panel remains in place because you get just a bit more storage space.

On the Convertible Corvette, the folding hardtop necessitates the trunk to be just a little different shape and slightly smaller. This smaller trunk should not keep you from getting a full golf bag in the Corvette Convertible’s trunk. It is smaller but only slightly so. Both cars still offer pretty good storage for cargo considering the mid-engine design. Also, the frunk of the vehicle is unchanged, so it will be the same in both the Coupe and the Convertible.
