How cheap will our C8 Stingrays be? Photo Credit: Autotrader

If you’ve been following the eighth-generation Stingray market as closely as we have, you’ve likely heard about the “crash” that occurred over the last number of months, with many sources noting an excess of new Stingrays on Chevrolet’s inventory pageHowever, has that dynamic been reflected in the used C8 market yet? Since it is now common to see discounts of 10% (or more!) off MSRP on brand new C8 Stingrays, have substantial discounts trickled down to pre-owned Stingrays? This market feature is FREE and not behind a paywall. When any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.

Since our Bargain Hunting database has two markers for used C8s, dating back to late December 2024, now is the time to analyze how used prices are tracking over the last 10 months. Has there been a used C8 Stingray “crash?” Our methodology is straightforward. We utilize one of the largest and oldest online sales platforms, Autotrader, to find the cheapest, clean-titled Stingrays for sale nationwide. In addition to eliminating branded titles, we also remove Corvettes with mechanical issues and excessive body damage.

♦ The CorvSport Conclusion

This side-by-side illustration effectively highlights how little the low prices have changed in the last ten months. Yes, you have some outliers, such as the $41,000 2020 Coupe from April of this year. Upon reflection, that $41k unit probably should have been eliminated from our list, as the vehicle and dealer looked a bit shady. However, it did have a clean title.

Does the consistency in pricing surprise you? When will the bottom fall out of the used C8 market? As the year closes, CorvSport will continue to analyze the used Stingray market and provide you with the definitive answers you’re looking for.

4) Bonus Analysis Video: Did Chevy Kill the C8 Market by Making WAY Too Many?

Video Preview From RacerX:

It seems that C8 Corvettes are everywhere you look, so I decided to research the production numbers and found out just how many C8 Corvettes has been produced thus far. Is this part of the reason the C8 market is so soft? The numbers tell the true story.

  • They should be making as much as possible. It’s not an investment. It’s an affordable sports car for the average everyday dude.@warlordop713
  • Ah, three minutes in and I see the error in thinking. The C8 is meant to be moderately obtainable NOT EXCLUSIVE. Seeing 40-50 of these on the road near you means Chevy has achieved their goal of making this the affordable everyday sportscar. They literally make 3 exclusive supercar trims that all start over $100,000.” @Hope4NewDay1
  • They almost cancelled the Corvette after 2013 because so few were sold (13,000 in 2013). I’m glad they made so many because it will keep the model viable for years to come and maybe young people will be able to afford them.@JDale56
