Today, we continue our Bargain Hunting series, digging deep under the cushions, and this week we have a budget of $8,000. Is that even realistic, as new heavily optioned Corvettes surpass $130,000? Yes, unbelievably, an enthusiast can find an entry-level ‘Vette and join the club for less than one-tenth the cost of a new one. But will it be junk? Remarkably, the three Corvettes we found today look pretty darn good.

It’s well known the Corvette market has risen considerably since the eighth-generation model was released. I labeled the wild Corvette pricing and increased demand that began to creep into the market at the beginning of 2020 as the “Covid Phenomenon.” In short, a perfect storm occurred, with the revolutionary C8 creating unprecedented demand, in combination with lots of money being pumped into the system (leading to increased discretionary spending on toys), topped off with supply chain issues, which got so bad production for the C8 was halted.
