NEXTEL Cup drivers Tony Raines and Jeff Green, along with hundreds of fans in Daytona Intemational Speedway's acclaimed NEXTEL FANZONE, got the first look at the 2007 Daytona 500 pace car with a special unveiling during the NASCAR Jackson Hewitt Preseason ‘Thunder Fan Fest. Corvettes were also used as Track cars and other support vehicles during the event activities at that years Daytona Speed Weeks. Corvettes were also used as Track cars and other support vehicles.
This special edition Corvette comes with a ZO6 Performance Package, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, CFZ carbon fiber package with splitter and rocker moldings, carbon fiber raised hood, black headlamp housings and mirrors, red brake calipers, ebony interior with red stitching, suede-trimmed steering wheel, shift knob, parking brake handle and armrests with red stitching, centennial-model seats, racing pedal package, and racing-style graphics.
A Torch Red 2020 Corvette Stingray coupe will serve as the Official Pace Car for the 104th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge, continuing Chevrolet’s tradition of leading the field to the green flag. The Pace Car will be driven by GM President Mark Reuss. This marks the 17th time a Corvette has served as the Pace Car, starting in 1978, and the 31st time a Chevrolet has led the field dating to 1948 when a Fleetmaster Six convertible held the honor.
This special edition takes the upgraded handling and appearance that comes with the Grand Sport moniker and adds some special cosmetic touches for extra uniqueness. Along with a stunning gray metallic paint color, it features blue accents that harken back to previous Grand Sports. A representation of the original Grand Sport race car is embossed onto the headrests. Powered by the regular (and excellent) LT1 V-8, it features magnetic ride control, an electronic limited-slip differential, and Grand Sport wheels.
The 70th Anniversary Edition Corvettes will be unique, even among other 2023 Corvettes, in the following ways:  First, the Anniversary Edition cars will be offered in two exclusive color packages - an all-new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat or a Carbon Flash Metallic. An optional stripe kit will also be offered in complimenting colors - Satin Gray on the Pearl White Metallic, and Black on the Carbon Flash Metallic. The cars will also be fitted with unique-and-distinct wheels with commemorative caps.
Priced at an additional $3250  for the coupe or an additional $2880 for the convertible, the Grand Sport package included exclusive Admiral Blue paint and featured a single white stripe that ran the length of the body as well as two red accent stripes (also known as “Sebring Stripes”) on the driver side front fender.  This unique paint scheme was deliberately developed by GM to pay homage to the classic Corvette Grand Sport Racer of the 1960’s.
In August of 1955 GM styling created an exclusive Corvette for Prince Bertil of Sweden, who reportedly placed his order direct with Harlow Curtice, GM President. All modifications were confined to the exterior. Visible in the frontal view are an entirely new, larger grille assembly with flat black screen instead of teeth and the replacement of the front emblem by a large "V".
The 2010 Grand Sport Corvette was introduced to the world at the 12th annual C5/C6 Corvette Birthday Bash, which was (and is) held at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  During its unveiling, it was announced that the new Grand Sport would be offered as either a coupe or a convertible, and it would feature an appealing combination of the LS3 power plant fused with the Z06 Corvette’s wide track chassis and styling features.
If you were a senior GM employee, one of the perks was being able to have your own custom built for you. Bill Mitchell was known for it, but this SR-2 Lookalike was built for GM president Harlow Curtis, who was president of GM during the period that the SR-2 were developed. The lookalike was built by GM’s styling staff and presented to him.
Millions of spectators, broadcast viewers and listeners from around the world will be focused on the western region of France as one of Chevrolet’s fifth-generation family of Corvettes (referred to as C5) will pace an international field of sports cars as the Official Pace Car of the 67th running of the Le Mans 24 Hour race on June 12-13, 1999.
The L71 was Chevrolet’s most powerful engine in 1967 which replaced the big-block L71 from the previous year. Using it’s famous ‘Tri Power’ intake manifold was rated by the factory at 435 bhp. Costing $437.10, 3,754 Corvettes were made with the L71 options and they could not come with automatic transmissions nor air conditioning.
One special-edition Corvette was introduced in 2007 was based on the Corvette Pace Car that was used at the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500 driven by actor/racer Patrick Dempsey.  The significance of this car was the fact that GM had not produced a pace car replica since the 1998 model year, even though the Corvette had paced the prestigious event a bunch of times since then.
The Z06 Carbon was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first appearance of the Corvette at the 24 Hours of Le Mans when John Fitch and Briggs Cunningham won their class and finished eighth overall. The Carbon edition is essentially a Z06 with a ZR1 chassis and some of the carbon skin. With only 500 examples made, this is one rare and special looking Vette. The limited edition is distinguished by an aggressive look and black accents, reminiscent of the Porsche 911 GTS range.

The Grand Sport Collector Edition features an exclusive Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior with Tension Blue hash-mark graphics, satin black full-length stripes and black wheels. the new Grand Sport combines a lightweight architecture.
For competition, race customers had a range of options available to them including the N03 36-Gallon Fuel Tank, closer rear axle ratios and the C48 Heater/Defroster Delete (-100). Most cars equipped like this came with either L78 or the L84 with Ram-Jet Fuel Injection.
The big news for 1986 was that a Corvette would pace the Indy 500 for the second time. Retired General Chuck Yeager was enjoying celebrity status as a result of the book and movie, “The Right Stuff.” But Chevrolet was still smarting from the heavy criticism over the ‘78 Corvette Pace Car debacle and decided that all 1986 Corvette convertibles were designated as “Pace Car Replica”.

A 2006 specially outfitted Corvette Z06 served as the Official Pace Car of the 13th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday, Aug. 6 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Chevrolet cars have paced the prestigious NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at each of the 12 previous events, but the Corvette has never before been the Chevrolet brand chosen to lead the field to the green flag at the historic 25-mile IMS oval track. There's a first time for everything.
2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
The ZR-1 returned with the 1990 Corvette lineup after an eighteen year hiatus.  This time, it featured a special LT5 engine that had been developed by Lotus (which, at the time, had been a subsidiary of General Motors.) The LT5 engine featured an all-aluminum block, four overhead camshafts, and 32 valves. It also featured an air management system which enabled the car to maintain proper operation while closing off half of its fuel injection system.
The launch of any new Corvette is significant, and the new-for-2014 C7 model launching this year brings sweeping changes, including upgraded performance and a more contemporary, international styling language. To mark the car’s debut, Chevrolet is prepping the Corvette Stingray Coupe Premiere Edition—and just 500 will be built. While the engine and the transmission options remain unchanged, the Premiere Edition isn’t going to be hard to pick out of a lineup.
The GS II (Grand Sport II) was a test vehicle completed in late 1963 by Chevrolet Engineering Center (C.E.C.). The chassis was constructed of spot-welded sheet steel and was fitted with narrow tires. With only minor testing done at GM’s test facility in Michigan, the vehicle was shipped to Texas to the Chaparral Cars test facility.
The Corvette Jake Edition is a Grand Sport Coupe, with Z06 wheels featuring the Competition Gray finish. The matte Jake hood graphic from the GT1 commemorative model adds a subtle visual statement, while a host of other accessories round out the car’s unique appearance. Most of the parts added to this special Grand Sport are available today as Genuine Corvette Accessories or through any Chevrolet dealer’s parts department.
2013 427 Collector Edition Convertible
The 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible served double-duty as a commemorative edition model.  While it marked the departure of the sixth-generation Corvette. The real selling-point was the powerplant at the heart of the car - a 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) LS7 engine, the same engine used in the C6 Corvette Z06.  Rated at 505 horsepower (377kW) and 470lb.-ft of torque (637 Nm), this 427 was the most powerful engine GM had ever installed in a production Corvette convertible to date.

In 2005, the Corvette was chosen as the official pace car of the 47th Daytona 500. The car was based on a 2005 production model Corvette and it presented an excellent opportunity for the 2005 Corvette to showcase its true capabilities. The pace car was designed to honor the heritage of the historic Corvette race cars of yesteryear. It was finished in millennium yellow with over-the-top black racing stripe that runs from the hood to the trunk lid. It is powered by a 6.0L V-8 LS2 engine with 400 horsepower.
Built exclusively for Hertz Rental Car, the Corvette ZHZ coupe was first introduced in 2008 as part of Hertz’s “Fun Collection.”  These Corvettes were part of a larger group of rental vehicles made up of cars like the Ford Mustang, the Nissan 350Z and the Shelby GT-H. The intent behind these rental cars was simple - provide consumers with an opportunity to rent (at a rate commensurate with the car's performance) a well-equipped sports car for a day, a weekend or even longer. 
Chevrolet knows their clientele, and with the 1996 Corvette Collector's Edition LT4, the automaker put together a special package that would entice hard-core 'Vette fans with a unique tribute to the outgoing C4 model. The $1250 option brought unique Sebring Silver Metallic paint, 5-spoke wheels, and, of course, special badges and embroidery. It also received the upgraded LT4 powerplant available in the Grand Sport, and with 330 horsepower on tap.
2008 marks the 15th time that Chevrolet has paced the Alstate 400 at the Brickyard and the fourth consecutive time Corvette has led the pack. Chevrolet's pacing tration at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway also extends to the Indianapolis 500 where Chevrolet has paced that esteemed race 19 times with Corvette leading the field 10 times.
