FOR SALE: 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible L71 427/435

One of just 3,754 L71 tri-power Corvettes built in 1967

Regarded as the finest of the second-generation Corvettes, the 1967 model year was carried over after delays in the development of the third-generation Mako Shark design. Subtle refinements gave it a cleaner, more sophisticated appearance, highlighted by five smaller front-fender vents and the exclusive stinger hood on big-block cars.

Chevrolet produced 22,940 Corvettes for 1967, including 14,436 convertibles. Just 3,754 were fitted with the top-spec RPO L71 427/435 HP Tri-Power engine. Among them is this striking 1967 Corvette Convertible L71 427/435 4-Speed, now offered through Sotheby’s Motorsport.

Finished in Rally Red over Red vinyl, it was built in St. Louis on January 20, 1967, and retains its numbers-matching Tri-Power setup. Of the 14,436 convertibles produced, just 2,341 were finished in Rally Red. This example pairs the desirable L71 435 HP engine with an M21 close-ratio manual transmission and features additional rare options, including a White cloth soft top (one of 1,966 built) and a side-mounted exhaust (one of 4,209 built).

The restoration includes correctly dated drivetrain and chassis components. BF Goodrich Classic Redline tires, showing only 500 miles of use, reflect attention to originality. Restored five years ago, the car remains show-ready and fully documented, with two sets of keys and detailed records.
