The Logo Fades In and You Get Excited

Yesterday we shared the Corvette’s new logo with you and mentioned that there was another leak coming. Now, the guys over at GM-Trucks.com kept their promise, and the animation for the digital gauge cluster leaked, too. The website said it had that animation, and now it’s here.

As you can see from the video below, it doesn’t reveal any specific information about the upcoming C8 mid-engine Corvette. The video shows the logo that we showcased yesterday fade in. Then the word Corvette comes across the screen from the left. Then it shoots off to the right with a blue hue behind it.

It’s a fitting sequence for the model. This animation isn’t some over-the-top production. It’s classy and unique, and it will serve the C8 well. The logo itself is different than the one that GM-Trucks.com showed off yesterday. It’s blacked out instead of chrome. That’s an interesting look, but one that we definitely like. It hints at something a little more sinister, which we expect the C8 to be.

The “Corvette” word that fades on the screen and then shoots off towards the right is in a slightly different font than ever seen before. With that said, the change is subtle and not some dramatic reworking. This subtle change we would assume is meant to show that though the car is different, it’s still a Corvette.

Overall, this animation isn’t a game changer, but it is appropriate for the model. We’re happy to see Chevy going with an evolutionary approach as opposed to a revolutionary one. We’re also more excited than ever to see the C8 debut, which should happen later this year.
