CorvSport loves following the Corvette auction markets, from the big-tent kings Mecum and Barrett-Jackson, to online giants like Bring a Trailer. One of the more intriguing questions we’ve raised lately, and attempt to answer in our exclusive In The CorvSport Ring series, is whether no-reserve auctions bring more bidding and money. Like the majority of our digital content, this feature is FREE and not behind a paywall. If/when any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.
I often hear anecdotal stories from around the Corvette forums about how Bring a Trailer encourages sellers to opt for a no-reserve auction, and the primary complaint is the lack of a way to protect one’s bottom dollar. For a more “scientific” answer to the question, “Do no-reserve auctions bring more money?” we created our In The CorvSport Ring series, and here are those archives if you want to dig deeper–the results from our first three bouts have been enlightening.
