The latest head-to-head showdown from DragTimes brought together two of the most technologically advanced performance cars on the market: a modified Lamborghini Revuelto and the all-new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X. Conducted on the 3,500-foot back straight at Apex Motor Club near Phoenix, Arizona, the comparison consisted of three standing-start drag races and a 30-mph roll race, providing a comprehensive look at how these hybrid-powered supercars perform in real-world acceleration battles.
Representing Lamborghini was a Revuelto equipped with a complete Gintani exhaust system and an ECU calibration upgrade. The naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 hybrid supercar already delivers extraordinary performance in factory form, but the modifications are estimated to add approximately 50 to 60 horsepower while dramatically amplifying the vehicle’s acoustic character. The result is a machine that combines exotic styling, a high-revving V12 soundtrack, and electrified performance in a package valued at roughly $750,000.
Its challenger, however, was arguably the most formidable Corvette ever created. The Corvette ZR1X combines Chevrolet’s twin-turbocharged flat-plane-crank V8 with a front-mounted electric drive system, producing a staggering 1,250 horsepower and all-wheel-drive traction. The hybrid-assisted drivetrain significantly enhances launch capability and low-speed acceleration, positioning the ZR1X as one of the quickest production cars currently available.
From the opening race, the outcome became apparent. Despite a respectable launch from the Revuelto, the ZR1X’s superior power output and advanced all-wheel-drive system allowed it to pull ahead decisively. Subsequent runs yielded similar results, with the Corvette consistently increasing the gap as speeds climbed. Even when the Lamborghini was given a slight advantage at the start, the ZR1X rapidly erased the deficit and surged past with authority.
A key factor in the Corvette’s dominance was its highly configurable launch-control system. Drivers can fine-tune launch parameters to maximize traction and acceleration, whereas the Revuelto relies on a more fixed factory calibration. This flexibility enabled the ZR1X to repeatedly deliver optimal launches under changing conditions.
The 30-mph roll race further highlighted the disparity in outright acceleration. Once both vehicles were moving, the Corvette’s immense power reserves and hybrid torque delivery allowed it to pull away with remarkable ease. The Revuelto, while still exceptionally fast by any objective measure, simply could not match the relentless pace of Chevrolet’s flagship performance machine.
What makes the result particularly noteworthy is the value proposition. While the Lamborghini commands a price approaching three-quarters of a million dollars, the ZR1X is expected to cost roughly a third of that figure. From a pure performance-per-dollar perspective, the Corvette delivers an extraordinary level of capability that challenges established hypercar benchmarks.
