The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette is widely regarded as one of the most desirable American cars, marking the final year of the C2 Sting Ray, characterized by refined styling and engineering. Its fastback design and powerful big-block V-8 engines make it a standout among collectors.
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette 427 coupe is a superbly preserved example of the final and most refined year of the C2 Sting Ray. Finished in Rally Red over red vinyl, it is powered by the desirable L68 427-cubic-inch V-8 engine equipped with the factory Tri-Power carburetor setup and rated at 400 horsepower.
Mated to a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission and a 3.08:1 Positraction rear axle, it offers both muscle and smooth cruising. This car is heavily optioned, featuring factory air conditioning, power steering, brakes and windows, shoulder harnesses, tinted glass, an AM/FM radio, and a speed warning indicator.
Originally ordered by Don Steves Chevrolet in California as a gift for the dealer’s wife, it quickly changed hands to A.B. Smith Chevrolet in Oregon, where it remained for decades, earning multiple National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) Top Flight awards, as well as a Performance Verification award. The car still retains many factory-original details, including its smog pump.
This beautifully maintained, show-winning Corvette will be offered without reserve at RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction on August 15–16, with an estimated value between $125,000 and $150,000.
