Easy Corvette Mods YOU Can Do To Make a HUGE Difference On A C7 Stingray, Z06, Grand Sport or ZR1!

Mod #1: Replace the rear fascia

The first modification that I did that I want to show you guys. The funniest thing is, so this piece, if you remember, I had the other Corvette Grand Sport that I traded out for this one. I replaced this whole back fascia; this entire back fascia is the exact same fascia that was on my Corvette Grand Sport, mainly because I wanted to keep my ACS rear diffuser fins.

I didn’t want to buy new ones, and I wanted a piece of my old Corvette, so I was able to keep the whole back section of the Corvette because this piece right here is the same on a Z06 as it is on a Grand Sport, so I just swapped it out. So Dave, who’s got my old Grand Sport, has my original Z06 rear fascia. But, I’m sorry, ACS composite in my opinion makes one of the best diffuser fins on the market. I love the way they look, so I had to keep that. That was the first thing that we switched out.

Author’s Note: Jason from FSD has links for all these products in the featured video below.

Mod #2: Add rear rock guards & fascia extensions

The second thing I replaced is the ACS composite rear XL rock guards with the fascia extensions, which I think these really look good, you see it adds a little width to the back of the car. It does help prevent rocks from flying out. The extensions, actually, they just look cool.

Jason shows off the rear ACS XL rock guards.
And these are the fascia extensions.

Mod #3: Install the front rock guards

Alright guys so here is the next modification is I added the front XL rock guards, which again help prevent rock chips from damaging the front of my car right here. So I really think these XL rock guards, which are really easy to install, are a great value to your car. Even with an XPEL, it’s still nice to keep rocks from hitting the side of your car.

Mod #4: Install a CAI (cold air intake)

So now that we’ve got the hood up, let’s take a look. One other performance mod that I’ve done is I added a Halltech cold air intake. I will say there is a little bit of a fitment issue. Halltech sits a little bit higher, I believe. I formerly had the AFE cold air intake on my Corvette Grand Sport. I really liked it–you could see through the plastic, you can see the air vent, you cannot do that on this one, but from everything that I’ve read, the Halltech is a little bit better in performance.

But, it has a problem with fitment and that is definitely the case because, like as you can see, this tube right here, there’s a little bit of a dent in it preventing proper flow, but not enough to make it to where I’m not going to keep it so, so far I like it honestly, truthfully, I can’t really tell the difference. I mean it’s 650 horsepower, you add a few horsepower, do you, really, can you really tell, I personally can’t.

Jason prefers the Halltech on his Z06 versus the AFE from his former Grand Sport.

Mod #5: Blackout your side marker lights

Alright, guys, now the next modification that I’m going to talk to you about is one that’s very inexpensive. I want to say it was like 16 dollars. I read a few of the reviews. Some of them came back good. Some of them came back bad, but for me, I thought it turned out really, really, really good. The product was great. I’ve had no problems with him yet, and I will leave a link to the description, link to this product in the description.

Let me show you. I went blacked out the side markers, from red and orange, this one’s red in the back, but so much better. I think I have some before pictures, so I will stick them in there. And around the rear brakes, it’s all black now. I didn’t film any of the installation of that, but Steve and I did it a few weeks ago at his house, and it looks really, really, really good. I can’t stress enough. I like it so much better than it was the way before, so for like 16 dollars I highly recommend those–it will make a night and day difference on your car.

Mod #6: Install your stage 3 wind deflectors

The next modification that I’m going to show you is one that I have a video install of and I will leave that link in the description. It’s one where we install these on Steve’s car and after we installed them on his, I knew I had to have them on mine–it’s another one. We keep installing stuff on his and then I’m like okay, now I got to have it. So here is another one of those. It is the stage 3 wind deflectors from ACS composite, and again, I think they look absolutely fantastic.

I still think that they’re more important on a Stingray than they are on a Z06 and a Grand Sport with the wider body, but, nonetheless, I think that they look really, really, really good and I’m very happy that we were able to get these done quickly–just really like the way they are. They’re not a very hard install. So, again, I’ll leave that video in the description. And real quick, I want to give a shout-out to ACScomposite.com. They’re a fantastic company. I buy a lot of stuff from them, and I don’t regret any of it. I think it’s absolutely worth it. I’ll leave a link in the description for them as well, but go check them out.

Mod #7: Tint the windows!

Alright, guys, last but not least, this is a modification that every Corvette needs, almost. The one modification that I didn’t do but came with the car already was the tinted windows. Now, on my Corvette Grand Sport, I didn’t tint the windows. The biggest reason I didn’t tint the windows on my Grand Sport is because I really like the blue interior, and that to me was one of the biggest reasons why I bought it. So, I wanted people to be able to see the blue interior.

However, on this car, it’s black interior, it’s nothing special… like I said it came with the black, but I will tell you if it didn’t, I would have got it immediately, and I’m absolutely happy that it came with it. I think it makes it look so much better. I think my other car would have looked so much better with tinted windows, again, but I just didn’t want to cover up the tension blue interior.

Definitely matches up to the super car ownership experience, owning the stingray has given me a new found love and appreciation for American sports cars and especially corvettes.
