The second-generation Chevrolet Corvette remains one of the most enduring sports-car designs ever created. Introduced in the early 1960s, its sculpted fiberglass body brought a distinctly futuristic character to American performance, and more than six decades later, the C2 Corvette continues to attract enthusiasts and collectors. This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible combines that iconic styling with a comprehensive modern performance transformation.
Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, the car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025 and subsequently upgraded with a 6.2-liter BluePrint LS376 V8, Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission, RideTech StreetGrip suspension, Steeroids power rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and a MagnaFlow dual exhaust. The fiberglass body was refinished in silver and complemented by a Navy Blue replacement soft top, along with a replacement windshield and renewed chrome exterior trim, including the bumpers, taillight assemblies, handles, side mirror, badges, and fuel-filler door.
The chassis has been substantially modernized without abandoning the Corvette’s classic character. Split five-spoke 18-inch American Racing wheels wear 235/45 Arroyo tires, while Fox shocks at all four corners form part of the RideTech StreetGrip suspension package. Wilwood disc brakes provide enhanced stopping capability, and Steeroids power rack-and-pinion steering improves response and maneuverability compared with the original steering system.
Inside, the cabin was converted to blue and refreshed with replacement seat upholstery, door panels, and carpeting. Modern conveniences include Vintage Air climate control, an AM/FM radio, analog clock, and lap belts. A leather-wrapped steering wheel sits atop an Ididit tilt steering column, positioned ahead of Dakota Digital instrumentation that brings contemporary monitoring technology to the vintage cockpit.
Installed in 2026, the BluePrint LS376 V8 represents the centerpiece of the mechanical overhaul. An accompanying dyno sheet records 542 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The engine uses GM Performance electronic management, wiring, and throttle controls, supported by stainless-steel headers, a 140-amp Powermaster alternator, and a DeWitts aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan.
Power reaches the rear wheels through the Tremec TKO five-speed manual gearbox and Precision Shaft Technologies driveshaft, while the MagnaFlow exhaust provides the final link in the performance package. The result is a C2 Corvette that preserves the visual appeal of the original Sting Ray while incorporating substantially upgraded power, handling, braking, comfort, and drivability.
