Stock C8 Z06 Drag Races A 1000HP Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is no slouch, boasting an impressive 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque sent directly to its rear wheels. This track-focused Corvette is powered by a mid-engine 5.5-liter supercharged V8 engine, paired seamlessly with a quick-shifting 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. According to Chevrolet, the Z06 achieves a 0-60 mph time of just 2.6 seconds.

Now these are very impressive numbers for a high-performance car that you can get for slightly above $100,000. But how does it stack up against a modified Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing that boasts 1,000 horsepower? Well, that is what we are going to find out in this video from Hennessey Performance as they lined up these two in rolling drag races to see which one’s faster and to showcase their new H1000 package for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

In its stock form, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing stands as the brand’s most potent production car to date. It relies on a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 engine, delivering a rating of 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. With this level of power, the rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan accelerates to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Equipped with the 10-speed automatic or the optional 6-speed manual transmission, the car can reach a factory top speed of 205 mph.

The one in the video, however, has been modified by the folks at Hennessey with their H1000 package and it now generates an astonishing 1,000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque, thanks to enhancements such as an upgraded supercharger, cooling components, and a more aggressive engine tune.

It should be interesting to see how the C8 Z06 performs against a luxury sedan that has been pushed into supercar power level territory thanks to performance upgrades.
