Lovely Sound, Isn't It?

C8 Corvette Z06

Let It Sing

The Z06 is out there testing, and GM Authority is now showcasing some spy shots and video of the car doing its thing. In the video, you can hear what sounds like a flat plane crank V8. It is a glorious sound, and the car is a seriously fast-looking machine.

The C8 Corvette Z06 has long been rumored and speculated about, but now the car is out there testing at the GM Milford Proving Ground. In the video below, you’ll be able to see the car take off from a stop. The noise coming from the engine is deeper and just better. The car sounds more powerful, and that sound hints at what could be the best sports car to come out in the next couple of years.

We have to note, that the driver in the car on the video doesn’t seem to be pushing the envelope. It’s quick acceleration, but whoever is behind the wheel of the car isn’t giving the vehicle the full beans, or at least we wouldn’t expect.

According to GM Authority, the Z06 isn’t expected to come out until the second half of 2021. It will likely be sold as a 2022 model year vehicle. It’s unclear what the flat plane crank V8 will put out in terms of power, but the estimates are in the neighborhood of 600 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque. That should make this a truly impressive car, indeed.
