Often, when I’m reading social media, I hear from my “elders” about how the vehicles they grew up with were essentially disposable after 100,000 miles–sometimes even sooner! Anecdotal, yes, but you won’t find many who disagree with the sentiment that newer, modern vehicles last much longer than those of yesteryear. And, wow, GM certainly hit the longevity sweet spot with the C5, with many examples flying right past 200,000 miles. Today’s feature, along with the majority of CorvSport’s digital content, is FREE and not behind a paywall. If/when any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.

After a member of the vibrant Facebook community, C5 Vette’s, posted the simple inquiry below, we now have some 2025 data that moves beyond casual internet conversations. It’s not a scientific study, but with over 63,000 members and nearly 300 participants, I think Frank M.’s informal poll yielded some interesting results.

What makes the results even more interesting is the number of “garage queens” this Facebook community has parked in their stables. However, the poll did not disappoint on the longevity side of the equation, with nearly 34% of the C5s having over 100,000 miles and still going strong. How many miles did our lowest garage queen have, and more importantly, who took the record for the highest miles?

How many garage queens are out there? Lastly, after the poll results, I’ve compiled some of CorvSport’s exclusive C5 content, including tips and advice that will help your C5 Corvette live a healthy and happy life.
