The 638-hp, 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 LS9 engine features such niceties as titanium connecting rods and intake valves, a forged steel crankshaft, and a dry-sump oil system. The suspension has magnetorheological shocks that enabled Chevrolet engineers to use softer springs than in the conventionally damped Z06. Corvette's top dog model is no joke and an accomplished sports car that puts up a good fight against the world's best.

2022 C8 Chevrolet Corvette Model Guide

As a way of celebrating Corvette Racing's monumental performance during the 2020 IMSA racing season, Chevrolet created two special-edition C8.R Corvette packages to commemorate the event. Available in either the No. 3's Design Accelerate Yellow or the No. 4's Design Hypersonic Gray, each car features special badging and trim. Other changes were minimal for 2022.

On February 3, 2020, Chevrolet officially began production of the mid-engine Corvette in Bowling Green.  Chevrolet marked the occasion via the use of social media and literally "tweeted" the announcement from the plant. The new mid-engined Corvette was a revolution for fans and an absolutely amazing machine. Long live the future.
