The Overview
The C8 Corvette Grand Sport was built 2027. The 2027 mid-engine Grand Sport: a new 6.7-liter LS6 small-block, the first Corvette engine over 400 cubic inches since 1974, the Z06’s wide body and the Grand Sport X hybrid with the E-Ray’s front motor and four driven wheels.
The Grand Sport’s fourth revival and the C8’s new middle. For 2027 the wide body, Z06 brakes, Magnetic Ride and eLSD carry the new LS6, a 6.7-liter pushrod V-8 with 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft, the first of GM’s sixth-generation small blocks, built in Flint and shared with the 2027 Stingray; the Z52 Sport package ($3,500) and the Z52 Track car (from $109,190) take it to the track, and the fender hashes return. The Grand Sport X adds the ZR1X’s 186-horsepower front motor for 721 horsepower and all-wheel drive, replacing the E-Ray. From $88,495 and $112,195 as coupes, $95,495 and $119,195 as convertibles, and a third of the early 2027 builds. Both are in their first year, so the market is the window sticker; the year page follows the production count as the museum publishes it.
This page has every model year of the C8 Corvette Grand Sport in its own section with the year page’s account, the specs, the numbers and the posts; the figures by year; the colors; how it compares to its siblings; the site’s guides, videos and news; and a buyer’s guide: which year to buy, what to pay, how to verify one, what goes wrong and the site’s market reports. The Corvette Grand Sport guide has the whole line across every generation.
The C8 Corvette Grand Sport Story
2027: The Mid-Engine Grand Sport and the LS6
Chevrolet showed the fifth Grand Sport uncamouflaged at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 21, 2026 and revealed it five days later: the Z06’s wide body, 20 x 10 and 21 x 13-inch wheels and chassis around a new engine, the 6.7-liter LS6, a naturally aspirated pushrod V-8 built in Flint, the first of GM’s sixth-generation small-blocks, with 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft at 13.0:1 compression, through the eight-speed dual-clutch and a 5.56 axle; Magnetic Ride is standard with a Touring calibration, the brakes are Brembo six- and four-piston, and the hash marks moved to the rear haunches, behind the engine, for the first time. “Grand Sport has always been the Corvette for drivers who want the spirit of a race car in a package they can enjoy every day,” said Chevrolet’s Scott Bell at Sebring. The $3,500 Z52 Sport package adds a stiffer tune, summer tires and the Z06’s iron brakes; the Z52 Track package adds carbon-ceramic brakes, Cup 2 R tires, the Z06-style carbon aero and a quad center-exit exhaust, the first on a pushrod C8. Admiral Blue was revived for it, and with the white stripe and red hashes the 1996 car comes back; it weighs 3,520 pounds and costs $88,495 as a 1LT coupe, $15,000 over the Stingray. Orders opened April 16, 2026, production June 8, and the Grand Sport was 35 percent of the first three weeks of 2027 production.
The Grand Sport X: 721 Horsepower, Four Driven Wheels
The Grand Sport X is what became of the E-Ray. The X, as on the ZR1X, means eAWD: the Grand Sport’s LS6 driving the rear wheels and the ZR1X’s front electric drive unit on the 1.9-kWh battery driving the fronts, 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft, for 721 horsepower combined, 66 more than the E-Ray with the big engine’s torque beneath it. Carbon-ceramic brakes and a head-up display are standard, the drive modes are the E-Ray’s plus Endurance, Qualifying and Push-to-Pass for the track, Stealth mode runs on the motor alone to 50 mph and a new Shuttle mode to 23, and the $500 Performance Package brings summer tires and a retuned Magnetic Ride. It weighs 3,800 pounds, 280 over the Grand Sport, costs $112,195 as a 1LT coupe, $1,100 over the 2026 E-Ray, and went into production in August 2026, after the other five 2027 models.

2027 Corvette Grand Sport
The Grand Sport name goes back to the five lightweight C2 racers of 1963 — one of them won its class at Sebring in 1964 with Roger Penske and Jim Hall — and to the road cars of 1996, 2010–13 and 2017–19 that each sat between the base Corvette and the Z06 with the faster car’s hardware; the 2027 is the first mid-engine one. Chevrolet showed it uncamouflaged at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 21, 2026 and revealed it on March 26: the Z06’s wide body, 20 x 10 and 21 x 13-inch wheels, 275/30ZR20 and 345/25ZR21 tires and chassis with the new naturally aspirated 6.7-liter LS6 V-8 — 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft, 13.0:1, 6,600 rpm, built in Flint — through the eight-speed dual-clutch and a 5.56 axle, Magnetic Ride Control standard with a Touring calibration on Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires, Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes, and the signature hash marks moved to the rear haunches, behind the engine, for the first time. Grand Sport has always been the Corvette for drivers who want the spirit of a race car in a package they can enjoy every day, said Scott Bell at Sebring.
The $3,500 Z52 Sport Performance Package (FEB) adds a stiffer suspension tune, Pilot Sport 4S summer tires and the Z06’s J56 iron brakes; the Z52 Track Performance Package (FEY) adds carbon-ceramic brakes, Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, the Z06-style carbon aero of splitter, dive planes, rockers and rear wing, a quad center-exit exhaust — the first on a pushrod C8 — and its own chassis tune, for a Track car from $109,190, $12,000 under a Z06. Admiral Blue Metallic was revived for it, and with the white center stripe and red hashes recreates the 1996 car; Launch Edition cars have a Santorini Blue-dipped interior with red stitching, embossed headrests and a Grand Sport wheel badge, and the red SUP badges and T0F carbon aero package are Grand Sport-only. It weighs 3,520 pounds and cost $88,495 as a 1LT coupe, $94,595 and $99,245 as a 2LT and 3LT, $7,000 more as a convertible, including $2,495 destination — $15,000 over the Stingray.
Orders opened April 16, 2026, production June 8, and in the first three weeks the plant built 590 Grand Sports against 719 Stingrays — 35 percent of the 2027s — with Chevrolet saying it expects the Stingray and Grand Sport together to be the great majority of Corvette sales; GM had published no acceleration figures by October 2026. The first cars reached customers in July, the first-year markups with them.
2027 Corvette Grand Sport X. The Grand Sport X is what became of the E-Ray. The X, as on the ZR1X, means eAWD: the Grand Sport’s LS6 — 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft through the dual-clutch and a 5.56 axle to the rear wheels — with the ZR1X’s front electric drive unit on the 1.9-kWh battery driving the fronts, 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft, for 721 horsepower combined, 66 more than the E-Ray’s 655 and with the LS6’s torque beneath it. Carbon-ceramic brakes (398 / 390 mm, Dark Gray calipers) and a head-up display are standard, the Z06’s wide body and 20 / 21-inch wheels carry over, and the drive modes are the E-Ray’s plus three for the track — Endurance for consistent output over a tank, Qualifying for one lap, Push-to-Pass for everything on demand — with Stealth Mode on the motor alone to 50 mph (the E-Ray’s was 45) and a new Shuttle mode to 23 mph for quiet low-speed manoeuvring; the $500 Performance Package (FED) brings Pilot Sport 4S summer tires and retuned Magnetic Ride, the E-Ray’s ZER formula.

The C8 Corvette Grand Sport Buyer’s Guide
The 2027 Grand Sport is on sale, not yet used: the first mid-engine Grand Sport with the new 6.7-liter, 535-hp LS6 and the Z06’s wide body, and the Grand Sport X with the ZR1X’s 186-hp front motor above it. Buying one in 2026 is a question of allocation, the dealer’s markup and the package: the Z52 Track car with the carbon-ceramics, the Cup 2 Rs and the aero is the one the reviews praise, and the standard car is the one most buyers will be able to find.
There is no history to inspect; the questions are the first-year ones for a new engine family — early-build software, the Flint engine’s first months, the dealer’s updates — and the paperwork: the build sheet, the invoice and the markup, which the site’s wholesale reports have already seen on the first cars at auction.
What a C8 Corvette Grand Sport Costs Today
Auction and dealer results the site has tracked, by year; check whether a result includes the buyer’s premium, and treat asking prices and unsold high bids separately from completed sales.
The first Grand Sports reached customers in July 2026, and the site’s own for-sale coverage had a 2027 Grand Sport and several 2027 ZR1s and ZR1Xs listed by October. Expect first-year Grand Sport markups while allocations catch up, as the site’s pricing post warned, and expect them to fade as they did on the E-Ray and Z06.

The C8 Corvette Grand Sport Inspection List
What to check on a C8 Corvette Grand Sport before the money changes hands, from the year pages.
For a Grand Sport the questions are the package and the badge: the Z52 Track car (carbon-ceramics, Cup 2 Rs, the aero, the center-exit exhaust) is the one the Z06 crowd will want, the Z52 Sport car the one most buyers will take, and the Launch Edition interior, Admiral Blue with the white stripe and red hashes, and the SUP red badges are the markers that will matter; the Grand Sport X, at 3,800 pounds and 721 horsepower with carbon-ceramics standard, is the E-Ray’s formula with 66 more horsepower and the LS6’s torque, and the first X cars came in August. The LS6 is the first new engine family in a Corvette since the LT7, and the first-year questions are the usual ones — early-build software, the Flint engine’s first months — with no history yet.

What Goes Wrong: The C8 Corvette Grand Sport’s Known Issues
The faults a C8 Corvette Grand Sport is known for, the years they affect, what they look like and what the fix is. None of them should stop a purchase; all of them should be on the checklist, and a car with the paperwork for them is the one to buy.
| ISSUE | YEARS | WHAT HAPPENS | THE FIX |
|---|---|---|---|
| A new engine | 2027 | The LS6 is the first new engine family since the LT7 and its first year. | Buy from a dealer that does the updates; keep the warranty intact. |
| Dealer markups | 2027 | The first cars carried markups and one listing was pulled from auction over shill bidding. | Know the sticker; walk from a markup. |
| Carbon-ceramic rotors and Cup 2 Rs (Z52) | 2027 | The track package’s consumables. | Priced for the track. |
| The C8 items | 2027 | The dual-clutch’s updates, paint, dash, wheels. | Inspect as on any C8. |

What a C8 Corvette Grand Sport Costs to Own
Running costs are the Z06’s without the flat-plane engine: the LS6 on a dry sump, the dual-clutch service, the wide-body tires and, on a Z52, the carbon-ceramic brakes. Dealers service it; insure on an agreed value while it trades above sticker.
