What is a C6 Corvette Z06 worth today?

See What to Pay in the buyer’s guide above: the site’s tracked auction and dealer results by year. The figures move, and the for-sale feed shows asking prices now.

Why is the C6 Z06 coupe-only and manual-only?

The aluminum frame and fixed roof were part of the weight program — 3,132 pounds, about 140 less than a base coupe — and the Tremec six-speed was the only gearbox rated for the LS7; no automatic or convertible Z06 was offered until the C7.

What is the LS7 valve-guide issue?

Some LS7 heads built before 2011 had valve guides that wore quickly, which can drop a valve; a “wiggle test” or a head rebuild by a known shop is the standard check on a used car, and the buyer’s guide has the details.

Which C6 Z06 editions exist?

The 2007 Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Championship Edition (399, Arctic White), the 2008 427 Limited Edition (505, Crystal Red, Wil Cooksey’s signature), the 2009 GT1 Championship Edition (Z06 and coupe/convertible), the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition (the ZR1’s brakes and dampers, 252 planned), the 2012 Centennial Edition and the 2013 60th Anniversary package.

Which C6 Z06 years have the valve-guide problem?

All of them can; the LS7 was built 2006–13 with the same guides, and the usual advice is to test or rebuild every head rather than trust a year. Many cars have had the job done, and those are the ones to buy.

What is the best year of the C6 Z06?

A 2008–10 car with head paperwork is the best driver (the 2008 updates, the 2009 exhaust) at the lowest price; a 2011–13 Z07 car is the best performer; the Ron Fellows, Carbon and Centennial editions are the collector cars.

Is a C6 Z06 a good investment?

It has been a stable one: the last hand-built, naturally aspirated, manual-only Corvette, with the special editions already climbing. Buy a documented car with the heads done and you are unlikely to lose money by holding it.
