FOR SALE: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe Restomod

A high-performance restomod inspired by the C6 Corvette ZR1

Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette coupe has been transformed into a high-performance restomod that blends classic C2 styling with the mechanical sophistication of the C6 Corvette ZR1. Originally modified by Heartland Customs of Purcell, Oklahoma, and known as the “C2 ZR1,” the car has reportedly appeared at the SEMA Show twice and was featured on the cover of Vette magazine in October 2011.

The Corvette is built around a custom Street Shop Inc. frame with a narrowed track width to accommodate its substantial HRE wheels. Its suspension uses C6 ZR1-derived components, chromed for presentation and upgraded with QA1 coilovers and one-inch front and rear sway bars. Black 19×9-inch front and 20×12-inch rear HRE wheels wear 285/35 and 345/25 Nitto tires, respectively. Braking is handled by ZR1-spec Brembo hardware, featuring six-piston calipers and large carbon-ceramic rotors measuring 15 inches at the front and 14 inches at the rear.

The gray bodywork incorporates numerous C6 ZR1-inspired details, including exposed carbon fiber on the roof, a front splitter, rocker panels, fender vents, and a polycarbonate hood window. The design is further modernized with center-exit exhaust outlets, a diffuser-style rear valance, shaved door handles, concealed flip-up headlights, and LED lighting integrated into the original turn-signal and bumper locations.

Inside, aftermarket bucket seats are upholstered in tan leather, complemented by tan-and-blue leather across the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Air conditioning, a heater, upgraded instrumentation, and an aftermarket stereo provide modern usability while retaining the Corvette’s custom character.

At the heart of the build is a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 featuring a forged crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, six-bolt main caps, and A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads. An Eaton Roots-style supercharger produces up to 10.5 psi of boost through an integrated liquid-to-air intercooler. Supporting hardware includes a hydraulic roller camshaft, 48-lb/hr injectors, coil-on-plug ignition, and dual-pressure fuel delivery.

Power reaches the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission paired with a McLeod dual-disc clutch, polished driveshaft, and Dana 44 limited-slip differential with 3.55:1 gearing. A custom 2.5-inch exhaust system with electric cutouts and Borla mufflers completes the performance package, making this C2 a compelling fusion of vintage Corvette design and modern ZR1-level engineering.
