Recently, while on one of my Corvette forums, I had an enlightening and spirited exchange with a group of enthusiasts. The discussion started when an acquaintance over in Lakeland, Florida, had some money burning a hole in his pocket and posted up a 1958 ‘Vette that looked too good to be true at $39,900. The body and interior looked great, but the rest of it was cobbled together, with no electrical, no brakes, and a junkyard 350 V8 and four-speed manual transmission shoehorned in. He started the discussion claiming it was a “great deal,” and by the time we were done talking sense into him (and showing comps), he thanked us for helping him dodge a bullet. Today’s feature, along with the majority of CorvSport’s digital content, is FREE and not behind a paywall. When any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.
That spirited exchange inspired this piece, and since we have three-quarters of sales under us for 2025, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to highlight the top 10 C1 bargains on the popular online auction platform Bring a Trailer. Before we move on, here are a few of the pictures of the ’58 in question, and a link to the discussion if you want to view the full 228 posts.
Now, on to that bonus content we promised you. If you have some extra time, each of these C1 features will open in a new window so you can read and discover new things at your leisure.

The CorvSport Conclusion:
Today, we used market data from the largest online auction platform to confirm what the casual discussion with other ‘Vette enthusiasts discovered–there are some C1 deals out there. That $39k deal we opened with was a shady-looking South Florida dealer, with a fairly lengthy list of Facebook inventory similar to the cobbled-together C1. There are deals to be found if you are patient, do your due diligence, and rely on above-board sellers on a proven platform, rather than shady Facebook sellers.
