Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds uploaded a new clip recently of a 2019 Corvette C7 ZR1 challenging the standing mile top speed tests they often do.

The ZR1 reaches a speed of 191.2 MPH in the standing mile.

It’s amazing how quickly the models of just last year have been buried in the tidal wave of news and expectations regarding the C8. It’s nice to be reminded that the C7 still has teeth.

Powered by the supercharged LT5 version of the V8 engine, with 755 HP and 715 lbs-ft of torque, the ZR1 was the shark in the waters that could embarrass supercars that were two or three times more expensive.

It also set the standard by which the C8’s ZR1 version, which, if rumors are to be believed, will have 900 HP from a combination supercharged V8 and hybrid electric system, is to be measured against.

So, if you’re looking for something to spank your neighbor’s new 2020 Ferrari in a straight line, there are still a few 2019 ZR1’s available to buy from dealerships as they liquidate their 2019 Corvettes. Z07’s and Z06’s are also available, along with the base Grand Sport models.

Also, if someone has traded in a 2019 ZR1 for a 2020 C8, well, the used market is viable too!
