CorvSport loves to follow the Corvette market–we dig, we dig deep, and we analyze areas that no other Corvette publications do. Before we move on, I wanted to let you know this exclusive market feature is FREE and not behind a paywall. Yes, FREE! We’re going to begin today’s C2 market analysis with this fascinating graph from Bring a Trailer, which shows the all-time Mid-Year sales on their online auction platform since the first Split Window Coupe sold in early 2015. The most interesting aspect of this graph is how the platform gained confidence from C2 sellers over the years. By the time we entered the “Covid-Era,” the supply of C2 Corvettes started to grow exponentially. The clusters forming black blobs between $50,000 and $100,000 really tell the story.

Winning Bid (69 Total): $340,000
- “This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was outfitted when new with a pre-production 427ci L88 V8 at Alan Green Chevrolet of Burien, Washington. The car achieved multiple podiums and several class wins with continual development over the course of the year. The replacement engine was damaged in its last race and removed following the 1966 season, and after changing hands the car was raced in various configurations until the 1980s, at which time it was stored. It remained in Washington with the same family until 2016, when it was purchased by the seller and relocated to Massachusetts. A subsequent restoration to its original configuration at The Bowtie Shop of Billerica involved dismantling the car, refinishing the body in its initial yellow and green livery, retrimming the interior, overhauling the J56 brakes and F41 suspension, and installing a replacement L88 engine. After work was completed in 2018, the car was awarded an American Heritage award at the NCRS National Convention and featured in Motor Trend. This C2 race car is now offered with an NCRS Shipping Data Report, refurbishment records, copies of SCCA and ICSCC logbooks, historical documents, trophies, and a Massachusetts title in the name of the seller’s business…” Continue Reading And View More Pictures
