Hennessey’s 1000 HP C7 Corvette ZR1 Is A Beast

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 was developed with the intent of building a super-car iteration of the Corvette that pushed the limits of the brand to the highest power output, greatest track performance and most advanced technology package in its sixty-six year production history.

In its stock form the 2019 ZR1 is powered by Chevrolet’s exclusive LT5 supercharged engine capable of producing 755 horsepower (563 kW) and 715 lb -ft (969 Nm) of torque, the LT5 delivered the highest engine output ever for a Chevrolet production vehicle.

Hennessey Performance, however, further pushes the ZR1 to an even higher level thanks to their 1,000-horsepower upgrade package.

Hennessey offers a top upgrade for the C7 Corvette ZR1, featuring various performance parts. These include a high-flow induction system, Hennessey lower pulley upgrade, custom camshaft, and ported cylinder heads. The valvetrain is also upgraded with new valves, valve springs, retainers, lifters, and pushrods. The exhaust system features long-tube stainless steel headers, stainless steel midpipes, and high-flow catalytic converters.

All of these enhancements result to an impressive output of 1,000 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 966 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. This represents a substantial increase of 245 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque compared to the stock setup.

In this video, Hennessey once again showcases their 1000 HP C7 Corvette ZR1 and took it to Pennzoil Proving Grounds for a quick drive.
