Chevrolet continued its tradition of introducing the Z06 variant a year after the base model with the C7 Corvette, which debuted in 2015. Unlike its C5 and C6 predecessors, the C7 Z06 introduced a removable roof panel and the first-ever convertible Z06, made possible by a newly engineered, high-strength aluminum chassis. Over its five-year production run, the C7 Z06 became renowned as one of the most formidable performance bargains globally, delivering extraordinary acceleration and dynamic cornering that rivaled much costlier supercars.
At the heart of the Z06 lies the supercharged, dry-sump 6.2L LT4 V8, a pushrod OHV engine producing 650 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and 650 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 RPM. This powerplant’s aggressive exhaust note evokes the raw sound of a 1960s Can-Am racer. The Z06 evolved continuously, growing more aggressive with each iteration, and by 2017, it had reached its performance apex.
This 2017 Z06 listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, finished in Torch Red over Jet Black leather, exemplifies this peak. Its LT4 engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring active rev matching, an electronic limited-slip differential, and Z06-specific suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, as well as carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes. The Z07 Ultimate Performance Package enhances handling with sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and upgraded suspension.
Despite its track prowess, the car offers refined amenities, including competition seats, dual-zone climate control, carbon fiber trim, premium audio, a head-up display, and the 3LZ Package, making this low-mileage Z06 a collector-grade Corvette.
