FOR SALE: 1961 Chevrolet Corvette 283/315 Fuelie

Equipped with a numbers-matching fuel-injected 283ci V8

The 1961 Corvette carried forward the styling update introduced in 1958, a pivotal redesign that arrived five years after the model’s launch. Quad headlights, liberal use of chrome, and the now-iconic dual round taillights all became part of the package that year—a taillight layout that still defines the Corvette today, even in its eighth generation. Under the hood, Chevrolet also turned up the wick, boosting output from its fuel-injected engines to 275 and 315 horsepower.

This example currently offered for sale on Bring a Trailer represents the model at its very best. Finished in beige with matching side coves and a coordinated beige interior, it presents in outstanding condition throughout. Power comes from the upgraded, fuel-injected 283-cubic-inch V8, rated at 315 horsepower and paired with a four-speed manual transmission.

Its equipment list reads like a greatest-hits compilation of early C1 features, including a body-color removable hardtop, a white soft top, quad headlights and taillights, split chrome bumpers, 15-inch steel wheels with simulated knock-off covers, and a driver-side mirror.

Inside, the cabin mirrors the exterior’s level of care, with beige vinyl bucket seats, a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, reverse lockout shifter, bright interior trim, heater and defroster, an analog clock, a centrally mounted tachometer beneath the sweeping half-circle speedometer, and a Wonder Bar push-button radio.
