This is going to be a fun and exciting wholesale market report to watch, as we are moving back to the Florida market for the first time since September 2024. To recap, our first 16 installments were from Florida, but in October 2024, we switched to Texas to see if we could heat things up. We made the move because Florida’s wholesale transactions seemed flat, with only 30% of the Corvettes we covered hammering on the wholesale auction block. And as you’ll note in our exclusive archives below, Texas did not disappoint! Now, it’s time to see if Florida can redeem itself. [Author’s Note: This market report is FREE and not behind a paywall. Yes, FREE! If/when any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.]
Is this your first time with us? I developed these exclusive wholesale market reports 68 weeks ago to provide enthusiasts and shoppers with insights into the used C8 market. If you want to check out interesting wholesale trends, especially as we transitioned from the Florida to the Texas market and now back to Florida, we have our full archives available below today’s results.
A Quick Review Of The Process:
In preparation for each installment, I start a list of Corvettes from that week’s runlist that catch my eye. As a retired owner/operator of a used car dealership, I’ll use my 17 years of experience (and industry access) to give you insights into the market. My search is focused on the nation’s largest dealer-only wholesale auction, and all the Corvettes featured are from the Texas or Florida market. Corvettes end up at a dealer-only wholesale auction for many reasons, but most are trade-ins that the dealer decided not to retail on their lot. Some may also be repossessions or coming off leases. It’s also common for dealers to dump problem (or slow-selling) units at an auction.
For Fun (and Insights):
Compare the MMR (estimated wholesale value) to the actual hammer price (if sold). It’s also interesting to compare the wholesale purchase price (if it sells) to the Cox Automotive estimated retail value, as this will give you an idea of the margins used-car dealerships are working with.

Top 7: Wholesale Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report
#7
2008 C6 Corvette Coupe Base Auto
24,234 Miles
Condition Report: 5.0/5.0
Announcements: Third Party Seller
Autocheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents
MMR: $27,100
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $19,950 (70,346 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $18,150 (66,115 mi)
- Last Year: $21,500 (47,441 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $31,300
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $29,000
(Insights: I had a feeling this first-year LS3 C6 would fetch good money, especially with the perfect condition report and low miles.)
#6
2016 C7 Stingray Coupe 2LT
40,983 Miles
Condition Report: 4.6/5.0
Announcements: No Cats, Third Party Seller
Autocheck History Report: 4 owners, 1 accident
MMR: $38,100
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $36,800 (47,549 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $35,400 (43,841 mi)
- Last Year: $28,900 (60,461 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $42,600
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $38,000
(Insights: Despite the accident, I’d say this was well bought by the dealer. Did you notice that cool aftermarket front end? Does that Torch Red pop, or what?!? Dealers don’t call it “resell-red” for nothing.)
#5
2021 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT
20,606 Miles
Condition Report: 3.5/5.0
Announcements: Green Light, Air Bag Light
Autocheck History Report: 3 owners, 0 accidents
MMR: $61,800
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $63,900 (22,418 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $62,800 (20,254 mi)
- Last Year: $69,200 (12,572 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $64,200
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $58,800
(Insights: This sale is a bit surprising to me, given the 3.5 condition report and love or hate “livery.” That being said, it was well bought, at $3,000 under MMR!)
#4
2021 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT
9,667 Miles
Condition Report: 4.6/5.0
Announcements: Silver Certified
Autocheck History Report: 4 owners, 1 accident
MMR: $64,500
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $64,100 (12,218 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $60,400 (14,534 mi)
- Last Year: $66,400 (12,495 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $68,400
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Insights: With our first no sale of the day, it’s likely the selling dealer’s reserve was too high, and an accident on the history report usually scares away bidders, unless the price is right.)
#3
2022 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT
23,769 Miles
Condition Report: 3.5/5.0
Announcements: Wrapped Vehicle, Gray
Autocheck History Report: 4 owners, 0 accidents
MMR: $63,400
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $67,500 (18,320 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $67,700 (12,250 mi)
- Last Year: $73,200 (5,535 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $66,900
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $64,750
(Insights: Here’s another C8 that sold, despite the low 3.5/5.0 condition report. It’s starting to feel like a bizarro world with some of these sales. They say mods don’t add value, but the wrap, high wing, and other add-ons may have been what pushed this C8 over MMR.)
#2
2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT
5,292 Miles
Condition Report: 4.8/5.0
Announcements:
Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents
MMR: $74,700
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $74,900 (5,271 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $71,800 (3,249 mi)
- Last Year: $74,600 (6,577 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $76,100
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Insights: This was a sharp-looking C8 that looked great on paper, so we’ll chalk up the no-sale to a 3rd party seller who wanted too much money on the block.)
#1
2024 C8 Z06 Coupe 2LZ
679 Miles
Condition Report: 5.0/5.0
Announcements: Green Light
Autocheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents
MMR: $111,000
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $110,000 (12,399 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $114,000 (1,581 mi)
- Last Year: $123,000 (2,082 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $114,000
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $114,000
(Insights: The C8 Z06 market has been interesting to watch, and this sale at Manheim’s estimated retail value is no exception! She’s beautiful, and I bet the buying dealer is glad to have her on their lot.)
Summary: Well, at 71%, the Florida sales results are better than the 30% we were trending before our shift to Texas. However, it is still not as strong as the 80s from the last few weeks in Texas. As we continue to dive into the Florida wholesale market, it will be interesting to see if Florida can redeem itself and consistently reach the 70s and 80s. Thanks for joining CorvSport today, and we’ll see you in two weeks!
