Corvette Of The Day: 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe

The 2019 Corvette Grand Sport shares many similarities with its ’17 counterpart. While it possesses the same power as the Stingray, it distinguishes itself with enhanced grip and a stronger connection to the road.

This is made possible by its wider track and broader 19″ X 10″ front and 20″ X 12″ rear wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires. These wheels fit snugly under special fenders that contribute to the Grand Sport’s more muscular appearance compared to the Corvette Stingray.

Despite its aggressive appearance, the Grand Sport surprises with its level of equipment and interior space. Chevrolet offers the Grand Sport in three trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, and the top-of-the-line 3LT. Standard features include Napa leather seats that are heated and ventilated, along with additional leather and sueded microfiber accents throughout the cabin.

The car is equipped with Chevrolet’s advanced Performance Data Recorder for capturing track day activities, as well as an eight-inch retractable touchscreen featuring 3D navigation and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Powering the Grand Sport is a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 engine with direct injection and variable valve timing. It delivers an output of 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This power is harnessed by either a rev-matching 7-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters, providing drivers with a range of options to suit their preferences.
