The Daytona 500, first held in 1959 at Daytona International Speedway in Florida, is NASCAR’s most iconic race. Known for its high-speed action, dramatic finishes, and rich tradition, it remains a highlight of the racing season.
In 2007, a Corvette Z06 led the field as the official pace car, driven by honorary pace car driver Cal Ripken Jr., before Kevin Harvick claimed victory. That year marked the fourth time a Corvette served as the Daytona 500 pace car.
The car sports a Pearl White finish with red and blue flames and features a roof-mounted light bar, Whelen Engineering strobe lights, a Chevrolet-branded windshield banner, xenon headlights, fog lights, polished quad exhaust outlets, and 18″ and 19″ multi-spoke wheels.
Inside it features power-adjustable seats, a matching dashboard, and premium comforts from the 2LZ Preferred Equipment Group, including heated seats, auto-dimming mirrors, and a Bose sound system. Power comes from a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine, producing 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
