The 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 established a new benchmark for American production-car performance when it debuted as the flagship of the C6-generation lineup. Combining a supercharged V8, extensive carbon-fiber components, and advanced chassis technology, the ZR1 delivered supercar-level capability while retaining the traditional front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration. This Victory Red example, offered through Sotheby’s Motorsport, adds aftermarket performance enhancements to the factory specification.
This exceptionally low-mileage example has covered 9,199 miles since new and is finished in Cyber Gray Metallic over a rare Sienna two-tone leather interior, a configuration shared by just 127 examples. Originally sold new in Texas, the Corvette is now located with the seller in Chelsea, Alabama. It features the desirable 3ZR Preferred Equipment Group, ZR1-specific carbon-fiber body components, chrome aluminum wheels, and quad exhaust outlets.
At the heart of this Corvette is Chevrolet’s 6.2-liter LS9 V8, featuring an Eaton four-lobe Roots-type supercharger and intercooling system. In standard configuration, the engine produces 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque, delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. This example benefits from a Lingenfelter Performance engine upgrade package and American Racing long-tube headers. According to the seller, these modifications increase output to a reported 710 horsepower, providing a substantial improvement over the factory specification. A short-throw manual shifter maintains direct driver engagement, while the limited-slip differential helps manage power delivery under acceleration.
The ZR1’s engineering extends beyond its powertrain. Carbon-fiber elements, including the roof, front splitter, and side skirts, contribute to its distinctive appearance and performance-focused construction. The raised hood incorporates a transparent panel that provides a view of the supercharger assembly. The car rides on ZR1 chrome aluminum wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs with blue calipers, while Magnetic Selective Ride Control adapts the suspension to changing road conditions. Engine, transmission, and axle coolers further support the vehicle’s high-performance capabilities.
The cabin combines Sienna two-tone leather upholstery with six-way power-adjustable seats, memory presets, and heating. Additional equipment includes a head-up display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable telescopic steering column, keyless access with push-button start, and Bluetooth connectivity. A seven-speaker Bose premium audio system completes the factory convenience features.
With fewer than 10,000 miles, rare interior trim, and the original combination of a manual gearbox and supercharged LS9 V8, this 2009 Corvette ZR1 offers a distinctive take on Chevrolet’s first-year C6 flagship. Its factory carbon-fiber components and dedicated chassis hardware preserve the model’s defining engineering character, while the extensive engine upgrades provide a more personalized interpretation of its already formidable performance package.
