Offered for sale on Bring a Trailer is the only known example of the legendary Motion Moray GT—a one-off 1970s big-block Corvette born from the imagination of Joel Rosen and Motion Performance. Built during the golden era of custom high-performance American cars, the Moray GT blends design cues from both the Mako Shark and its successor, the Manta Ray.
Originally envisioned as the next evolution of Rosen’s Maco Shark series, the Moray GT features an aggressive tilt-up front end, flared fenders, and a sharply raked rear spoiler—elements that would later influence the Motion Manta Ray. Finished in DuPont Hot Hues Lemon Yellow with gold pearl and black accents, this car is the only one of its kind, making it the rarest Motion Corvette ever built.
Under the hood sits a numbers-matching 454 cubic inch V8, enhanced with 427 heads, a Holley 750 CFM carburetor, and Motion-branded hardware. Hooker headers and large-diameter side pipes deliver an unmistakable exhaust note, while a 4-speed manual gearbox and Goodyear Eagle GT II tires complete the mechanical package.
Inside, factory Corvette components are paired with custom diamond-tufted upholstery by Dondi. Both T-tops are autographed—one by Rosen himself, the other by Corvette engineering legend Dave McLellan. A meticulous frame-off restoration in 2006 brought the car back to full Motion specification.
