In the newest episode of Edmunds U-Drags race, we get to see a showdown between two American performance icons: a factory-fresh 2025 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a heavily modified 2024 Mustang Dark Horse. Edmunds’ signature U-Drags course—a quarter-mile sprint, a hard brake into a 180-degree turnaround, and a full-throttle return to the start line. A brutal test of acceleration, braking, grip, and composure.

We’ve seen these two battle before, and the Stingray humiliated the naturally aspirated Dark Horse. This time, Edmunds came armed for redemption. Their Mustang received a $10,000 Ford Performance supercharger kit, professionally installed by Galpin Auto Sports, pushing output to 810 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque—nearly double the Stingray’s 495 hp. Crucially, the installation remains warranty-backed, meaning this isn’t a wild tuner special; it’s a legitimate, factory-approved monster.

The Corvette Stingray enters the ring as a mid-engine masterclass. Its 6.2-liter LT2 V8 channels power through an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, launching with surgical precision thanks to Performance Traction Management and a built-in launch control system.
