ImportRace on YouTube captured another quarter-mile battle at Island Dragway, this time featuring three very different performance machines: a Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a Ford Mustang GT, and an Audi V8T.
The Corvette Z06 from the C7 generation brought the most power to the strip, packing a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 rated at 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through either a 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic. The 2024 Mustang GT ran with its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V8, producing 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, also rear-wheel drive with a choice of 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic.
The Audi V8T served as the outlier. Using a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the S6/S7, it makes about 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the rear-drive American muscle, the Audi benefits from Quattro all-wheel drive, helping it launch harder despite extra weight.
In the first matchup, the Mustang jumped ahead early, but the Corvette reeled it in and crossed the line first. The same story played out against the Audi—its traction gave it the advantage off the start, but the Corvette’s power carried it to victory at the finish.
